  Chapter 044

   Lucas's point of view

"So all I have to do is cut her deal with death, and her soul will become corrupted yeah?"

She nodded positively at my words. My grin widened. That's just beautiful.

I dedicated today to finding a way to get rid of Madeleine, the longer she's around, the more danger she poses. Especially since I have no knowledge of what her plans are for me, I can only stray on the side of caution and take her out, prevent her from accomplishing her goals.

After rough hours with my witch, she's finally found a solution and how my sister was able to walk the earth alive and well.

My story about how she came back to life once I got crowned and declared war was fabricated. She has never come back to life, this was her first time and will be her last.

Turns out she struck a deal with the king of the underworld, he revives her soul and I don't know what he gets in return, he also marked her soul. Meaning, I can't kill her again or hurt her again, nothing I do will send her back to the underworld.

The only way to get rid of her is break her deal with death, and she's long gone.

I bade Emir, the witch with impressive mastery over dark magic a goodbye as I boarded my ride back to the palace.

Now all that's left to do is cut Madeleine's deal with death and she'd be a problem taken care of. I already have a plan hatched on Logan, there's no more waiting for him to come for me again before I take him out once and forever.

The Lycans are looking for alliance, and what better way to assure them one if they can get my dirty works done. They're to snuff out Logan wherever he's hiding and clot his breaths, permanently.

With him and Madeleine out of the picture, there would be nothing to worry about.

The only way I can cut my sister's deal with death is to offer death a better deal, and to that I'd have to summon death. Emir said there's a spell that does it, but it's not in her possession.

However, my sister should have it because she's in contact with death. So I'm going to steal the spell, summon death, offer the entity a better deal to double cross my knot of a sister, and life will return back to it merry go.

I arrived back home just in time for dinner, but when I arrived by the dining table there was no sign of Myra. It was just this bitch alone, eating away her defeat.

   I scoffed at her presence.

"Hey brother, you're back," she spoke with a mouthful of meal. I ignored her and gaped around instead, it doesn't look like Myra was here, it's like she hasn't come down yet for dinner. I was thinking maybe she already came and left.

I should go get her then, also talk to her cause I've missed her. I last saw her this morning when she left my room, although, Neil had come to inform me about how Myra wanted to start training with him, I refused and told him to allow me speak to her before he makes further decision.

I haven't been at home since I left this morning, I've been everywhere trying to get things done. Had a meeting with the Lycans and gave them their job, told Neil to be on them so he'd let me know when they get the job done, also met with my witch and how to deal with my sister. It's been a hectic day for me o spent the whole of today away and apart from my priceless jewel.

I got to her room and placed a gentle knock, a smile on my face as I awaited her calm sultry response. I longed for her voice, she's so delicate and all about her nearly drives me crazy. She's intense.

Seconds later I remain still at the door, no response at all. I knocked again, and it was the same.

Is something wrong? My heart toppled a beat at the thought of that.

Has Madeleine gotten to her? Does her plan involve her? Did Logan find a way back here and kidnap her?

A lot spiraled down my head as I broke down the door into shambles. My eyes bulged when I sighted Myra sprawled on the floor in blood unconscious.

"Myra!" Anger deepened my voice as I rushed to her in a swift move and took her in my hands. I shook her body and there was no sign of life in her body.

   Fuck!

I'm going to kill whoever did this to her. I will fucking gut the person out and feed them their insides!

However, my nose picked out a familiar scent around the scene. It belonged to Lisa, was she here? Did she know how Myra ended up like this? Those are questions for later, I need to save Myra.

I zoomed out of her room and head straight for the palace's infirmary, I need to know what happened to her. I got there and got the pack's nurses and doctors working on her immediately.

I stood there and watched them inject syringes and tubes into her body. Which makes me wonder how bad it is to be taking a lot of that work. What happened?

Was it because she lost a lot of blood, cause there was a lot spilled on the floor where I found her. Or she had an attack from my sister or Logan.

That son of a bitch might have come to kidnap her and she resisted, that ended up with her injured and extremely hurt. It's surely one of those two, but I have to question why I smelt Lisa's scent all over the scene and not those two.

Did she come later after it was done and ran out to go get help? I should go check in with her.

"Your Majesty, I'm afraid this is a beyond medical care." The head doctor reached out to me before I could depart the room.

   I looked at him confused.

"I'm saying her condition seems to be beyond a natural case, she's landed in coma and we've done a thorough inspection on her health and condition to see she's alright but will not be waking up," he explained after what? Minutes of working on her?

"What do you mean beyond natural case? I found her in a pool of her own blood, she's probably unconscious due to that, get back to examination and save her. Understood?" I loathe incompetence.

He bowed in fear, "Yes, Your Majesty."

I didn't waste more time with him as I exited the room to go look for Lisa, she's got some questions to answer. If it was her scent I sniffed last inside that room then she should know or have an idea what happened to Myra.

There's no way that doctor is right, because in what way would Myra suddenly be in coma? How? I think he just needs to do his job better and get her back on to life professionally.

'I couldn't feel her wolf while we were with her,' Deidre said.

He couldn't feel her wolf? What was done to my mate?

"You don't look too well, Lucius. Is everything alright?" Maddy's voice pulled me out of my reverie of multiple scenarios that could explain what happened to Myra.

Anger fumed at the sight of her sarcastic face. I grabbed her neck and slammed her into the nearest wall as I pinned her with the greatest pressure.

"What did you do to her?" My voice dropped with venom.

She laughed in my face and doesn't look the least bothered. "Is something wrong with your mate?" She hummed, "You should know that I'm not here for her and rather for you, brother," she looked down at the hand that caged her neck and began glitching, her body phased right out of my grip to reformed a step away from me.

   Well that's a new one.

"It seems to me she's become a part of your weakness, oh how much I cannot wait to get started with you." She giggled as she turned around and sashayed out of my sight.

I scoffed at her absence. I'd love to see her start, she'd be long gone by then to even stand a chance.

Now I think it's fair to say she doesn't have a clue about what happened to Myra, and that brought me back to the two suspects as well as leaves me with them.

   I need to see Lisa.
