Chapter 034
Lucas' point of view
It's been over an hour since I sent a maid to go get Myra, and none of them has returned yet for us to begin dinner.
Either Myra is fine but still bothered by the earlier incident that happened between us, or she's hurt and might need my urgent attention. However, I have a feeling it's the former not the latter.
I dragged my chair back as I pushed to my feet, I should go get her myself.
The strides to her room weren't that much and long cause it took me less than a minute to arrive by her door, I placed a gentle knock when my body lingered outside her boundary.
Seconds ticked by and there was no response, I banged another knock and when I saw the door wasn't opening I invited myself in.
I looked around and the room was empty but sound was coming from the shower, she must be in bathroom and didn't hear my knocks.
Barely a second later I've invited myself in she came out moistened from the shower with her white towel delicately wrapped around her gorgeous body. The body glistened with water and she appeared so ethereal my eyes bled admiration.
"Darling," I called in bid to announce my presence, and her head whirled to my direction.
"What are you doing here?" She asked as she began to dry her body. The sight of her moving the towel carefully around herself to extort the water on her and at the same time to keep her nakedness shielded from me- heavenly, she's so beautiful I wonder if she's aware of that fact.
Her beauty is like that of a star, bright and luminous as it lit up the night sky. She had the face of an angel, soft, delicate, and beyond artistic I could spend my eternity just looking at her.
"So are you going to explain yourself or you don't remember?" Her voice tugged back my lost attention.
"Yeah," I answered in a ghost tone, my gaze still lagged on the sumptuous mould of her body.
"Lucas!"
"Yes yes yes." I forced my eyes away from it delicious sight to match her aggravated eyes.
"This afternoon, you wanted to hurt me, you-"
"It's the curse," I cut into her sentence as my head cheerlessly fell low. "You know I would never hurt you," I added.
I glanced up to see her eyes fixed on me with indifference, as though she doubted the virtue to my words, and with the right stare my face would give it away.
Is she starting to doubt me? She could only if she's come to the knowledge of something she shouldn't know. She has to trust me, and forever trust me, the least I can afford right now is her posing a threat to herself.
"My wolf, he's uhm- he's locked up in a cage inside me, but today he managed to escape and the curse forced him to come for you. Luckily, I gained control before he could do any damage and have him back in his cage," I gave her an explanation like she quested for, and I watch the doubts in her eyes faded.
"The curse," she mentioned softly, "Is there any updates or progress on how we're going to deal with it?" She asked as she came to the bed to grab the things she laid out on it. "Wait here and answer me, I need to go dress up," she said and rushed off to her closet room.
I sat down and smirked, I handled that nicely. Though I never doubted myself.
"Well, nothing much except I've got to keep my beast tamed and chained till the blue moon arrives, that's when the both of us will be powerful enough to lift the curse. About the blue moon, there's something I have to actually tell you about it, I've been meaning to since I found out but it always skips my mind until now. However, telling you will be work and might be confusing, so I think it'll be better if I show you," I said to her, making sure my voice was loud and audible enough for her to make out my words where she was.
I heard her hummed. "This thing you wanna tell me, is it by any chance affiliated with the blue moon's omega legend?" Came her interrogative response.
How did she know about that? Main question is how much she knows?
'All these games you play, Lucas. Just know that one day, you're going to lose and the sight of you defeated will be the reward for my miseries with you,' Deidre shot at me, but I wasn't interested in any bicker. I'm not interested now, or ever will be.
"Yes it is, it is actually. How did you know about that?" I asked with simple curiosity.
"Well," she paused as she came out of her closet fully dressed. She's quite the shower addict, that I've noticed about her. She could freshen up ten times a day and still be willing to do it again. "I don't actually know about it, that's one thing I'm sure of. Now I'm assuming it has to do with me? Like who I am, right?"
I smiled and stretched my palm out for her to take, which she took without hesitation and my smile widened into a grin. She's back in my corner.
"You're absolutely right, the blue moon's legend is a tale that surrounded beings of your nature," I began as I led us out of her room and headed for the stairs that takes us down to the dinner hall.
"We've had many omegas in the past, those who escaped their brutal fate like you did. You know omegas are not suppose to live, they're suppose to be killed and wipe out the moment they were born. But just like you escaped your death, we've had many in the past who escaped theirs. Omegas are said to be the harbingers of death, chaos and destruction. What many failed to realize or come to know is that they also marked creation and life itself, omegas are the moon goddess' herald."
"You know I told you about a witch helping me and found this loophole?"
She nodded positively in response.
"Well the loophole was you, Mon Diamant. It was the Blue moon's omega legend. On the day of the blue moon that only happens once in two decades, an omega is allowed to wield the full power of the goddess herself. And on that day, you'll be granted the moon goddess's power, and in her name you shall retract my curse and give us a happy ending,"
"That's a nice little sorry you've got there brother," a known voice pitched into my sentence and my system reacted with utmost negativity.
Redhead, tall but not above or the same with my height, a subtle resemblance between us. Madeleine Aldrich turned herself around to face me and Myra.
"Brother....?" Myra repeated in a fading voice.
We've gotten downstairs and arrived at the dinner hall, where an august visitor sat dormant around to capture our attentions.
Looks like she's really back after all. Well, I got her once, it's just time to do it again and keep it permanent this time around.
