Chapter 010

Myra's point of view

If I had it in mind to start doubting my mate about what Logan said to me, I'm pretty sure our first night together just buried anything that relates to such notion.

Throughout the night he has himself up like a wide banner, sharing stuffs he claimed were personal, stuffs after hearing I know I'd keep personal if they were my story.

He told me about his abusive father, and that being the reason why he harbored an intense aversion towards abuse. Because of his past.

I really got to know a part of him that literally nobody knows on the very first night we met. It's really amazing, I've found the man of my dreams. I really have.

It's morning already and we were just preparing our departure. He called in one of his guards earlier to transport my belongings, but somehow he found out they were filled with rags and murky clothes, he then instructed one of his men to threw them all away, vowing to set me a new wardrobe as soon as we reach the capital.

I'd convince him overnight that killing the Luna and the beta's wife was a really cruel move, and he had decided to go share his condolences with them.

That was why I'm sat alone inside the big vehicle he came in, something I overheard one of the pack members called a limousine as they gossiped about my departure.

The inside was filled with his scent, mesmerizing and soothing to the nerves. Everything about him just makes me feel so safe.

Logan is really a bitter man for trying to mess up my happiness. The moon goddess finally remembered I exist and deserve a fair chance at life, and he tried sabotaging that.

I can't wait to be rid of him, his disgusting family, and this wicked little pack.

Lucas will be here any minute, and we'd be on our way to my new home. I just hope those there will accept me for who I am. That they will understand that I did not chose to be an omega, I was born and made that way. It wasn't my choice, and I can never change it so they should just let me live.

Lucas told me about his family, after his father died of a rare disease and he inherited the throne at an early age, he had to establish dominance someway or another. And for someone who had a dark childhood, violence was his best option to exerting his dominance over his subjects.

His mother couldn't object whenever he makes decisions to slaughter countless packs filled with innocent children and people, or would counter any of his harsh judgements for his pupil.

None of it all deters me, I'm willing to look past the monster he is or he was- because I'm not going to allow him be that man everyone fears again, the same way he's willing to look past my forbidden nature and ready to love and protect me.

"Salome." I reached out to my wolf inside my head, wanting to know why she's being silent since yesterday.

I was up all night talking to Lucas, I expected her to chip in remarks, her thoughts on some of Lucas's statements, but she's just being awfully quiet and now it is starting to bother me a bit.

"Salome!" I called out to her again, and I heard her whine woefully.

Did something perhaps went wrong with her happen? Wasn't she able to connect with Lucas's wolf over the night still? "Are you okay? What's wrong?" I had to ask her, cause isn't something I can deal with.

'Well I did everything I could to connect with him, and he flat out was rejecting my attempts. It's like he doesn't want us at all, yes I said us not me. At a point he let me in for a few seconds, and the messages I got from his feelings had me in doubts. He was shrouded in contempt, pure rage and disgust. His feelings felt too raw I pulled away as soon as I heard pushed me out.'

I had listen carefully to what Salome said, her whole explanation and I was just baffled. Why would Lucas's wolf not want us?

Maybe the wolf has an aversion for omegas, but his human counterpart wants us. Lucas doesn't care about me as an omega, he just wants to love me and care for me.

"I think it's high time I speak to Lucas about this," I told Salome, hoping that would stop her from worrying too much over it.

A minute hadn't passed when Lucas graced me with his presence, he came right in to sit beside me and I watched one of his men locked the door.

My expression lit up at the mere sight of him, he scooted till his side touched me before wrapping his arm over my neck.

"I did what you suggested I do, and now we should be on our way. Are you okay? Are you comfortable with me around you or anything?"

My lips parted in a wide smile, I nearly laughed at his sweet concern. I turned my face directly to look at him as I raised my palm up to his face, softly rubbing on his cheek.

"As long as you're the one with me, I will never be uncomfortable," I told him in assurance, and a genuine smile broke out on his face.

That gave light to his handsomeness. Wow! I'm actually just noticing how good looking he is. I didn't notice sooner because I'm not the type that sees into anyone's physical appearances.

I even spent the night with him, yet never saw how gripping his looks were.

"There's something I have to tell you," he spoke into the silence.

My brows creased in curiosity, "What is that?"

"It's about my wolf, there's something you should know about him, and you may not like what you're about to hear," he said.

And for some reason, I couldn't resist myself from getting really nervous. How bad is he expecting me not to take whatever he is about to tell me?
