Watchin' Que step up, takin' care of business like he been doin', got me feelin' a certain way. Ain't every day you see a young man carry that kinda weight, especially when he got a family dependin' on him. I know he got Lena and baby girl back home, and I see how hard he pushin' to make sure they good.
I been in this game a long time, seen a lot of folks come and go. But with Que, it's different. That boy got somethin' solid, somethin' real with Lena, and he ain't tryna lose it. I can tell this life startin' to wear on him, though. And part of me wonder if it's time for him to step out, to start fresh, maybe even legit. But I also know it ain't that easy to just walk away.
Keepin' It in the Family
Que got that same fire I used to have back in the day, and sometimes, it make me proud. He doin' what need to be done, handlin' his responsibilities, makin' sure he got every detail locked down. That's what we do—we look out for our own, and we protect what's ours.
But now, seein' him juggle that with family? Got me thinkin'. I never had nobody push me to get out, to find somethin' else. But Que... he got Lena, and she real with him, keepin' him grounded. She make him think twice 'bout this life. And maybe that's what he need.
Advice and Reflection
The other night, we sat down, had a drink together, just me and him. I looked him in the eyes and told him straight, "This life, it take more than it give. You got Lena, you got Amina. Don't let this pull you away from what matter most."
He nodded, but I could see the conflict in him. "Pops, I'm doin' this for them, too. I want 'em to have somethin' solid, know they don't ever gotta worry 'bout nothin'."
I just nodded, lettin' him talk, but I could tell he was startin' to see things clearer. "Just remember, Que. Family first. Money come and go, but family? That's forever."
The Struggle to Leave
As I watch him now, handlin' his business, I know he gotta make his own choice. I can't tell him to walk away, but I can guide him, let him know he got options. I see that tension in him, that weight. And I ain't tryna see my boy lose himself.
When this job done, I hope he make that choice. Maybe he'll be the one to finally step out, to start fresh. And if he do, he know I'll be right there supportin' him, makin' sure he got what he need to start over.
