Lena sat on the couch, watchin' Amina play on the floor, her lil' hands reachin' for toys and babblin' like she had her own language. Every day, she was growin', changin', and Lena felt grateful to be right there, takin' it all in. But lately, she'd been feelin' a mix of emotions—love, happiness, and a lil' bit of worry.

Que was still handlin' business, tryin' to balance his world with the family they'd built together. And even though he was there for them as much as he could be, Lena felt that ache every time he had to leave. She wanted more stability, wanted a life where they didn't have to worry 'bout him goin' out, where he was home every night.

Thinkin' 'Bout the Future

She sighed, watchin' Amina crawl toward her, reachin' her little arms up. Lena scooped her up, kissin' her cheek and feelin' that warmth spread through her. This was what mattered—them, their family. And she was ready to have that future, ready to settle into a life that didn't come with the kinda risks Que's work brought.

They'd talked about it before, and Que had promised her he was workin' on it, tryin' to make moves that would keep him close. But sometimes, it felt like she was just waitin', hopin' for that change to come sooner.

Textin' Jada and Renee

Decidin' she needed to reach out, she grabbed her phone and texted her girls, Jada and Renee, tellin' them she missed them and was thinkin' 'bout all the good times they'd shared.

Within minutes, they both hit her back, their messages full of love and jokes. Just readin' their words made her smile, remindin' her that no matter where life took them, they'd always be family.

Reflection

Later that night, after puttin' Amina to bed, Lena sat alone, scrollin' through old pictures of her and Que from when they first started out. They'd come so far, been through so much, and despite the ups and downs, her love for him was stronger than ever.

She pulled up their engagement picture, her ring catchin' the light in the photo. She knew he loved her, knew he'd do anythin' for their family. But she also knew she wanted to see him find a way to be there, fully, without any outside distractions.

With a deep breath, she decided to bring it up next time they talked. They'd built this life together, and now, she wanted them to take that next step toward somethin' more stable, more permanent.
