Que's POVIt's been a minute now, and things are finally movin' forward. The girl had the baby, so today I'm headin' over to get this paternity test done. I'm ready to get it over with, ready to put this all behind us. Lena and I are back together, and things are lookin' solid again, but I know we still got this one last loose end to tie up.
Baby girl's gettin' big now—Amina's six months old and already got her daddy wrapped around her lil' finger. Lena's been on top of her schoolwork, pushin' through, and she even told her folks that she's back here for good. When she finally told her dad the whole story, he wasn't havin' it. Called up her uncles, and they came down ready to handle things. Ain't nobody gon' mess with Lena or our baby girl without feelin' the weight of her family.
But I got my own moves goin' too. Got people watchin' out for her, folks who'd step in if things went sideways. This ain't somethin' I take lightly—they crossed the line, and now they gotta deal with the consequences. But first things first, this test is about to settle everything, and I can finally give Lena the peace she deserves.
Lena's POV
I'm at my mom's, just chillin' with Amina, waitin' on Que to get back from the test. I told myself I wasn't gon' think too much about it, but it's been on my mind. Part of me can't help but wonder if I made the right choice, givin' him another chance, but I know he loves me. He's puttin' in the work, and I can feel it every time we're together.
When I finally told my parents I was back for good, they wanted the whole story. My dad was heated, callin' up my uncles, tellin' them they weren't gon' let anyone mess with me or Amina. My family doesn't play when it comes to us, and Que knew that from the jump.
Later, Que comes to pick me and Amina up from my mom's. He doesn't say much, and honestly, I don't ask. I know he's doin' what he needs to, and I don't need every detail. I got a bit of an attitude, but it ain't at him—I'm just tired of this whole thing hangin' over us. I'm ready to move past it, to finally have some peace.
As we head home, I look over at Que, knowin' he's puttin' everything into keepin' us safe. And while this test ain't the end of it all, it feels like a start—like we're finally on our way to leavin' the past behind and buildin' somethin' real.
