Lena sat on the couch, scrollin' through videos of Amina, feelin' that ache of missin' Que more than usual. She looked over at baby girl playin' with her toys, babblin' in her little voice, callin' out for her daddy. Every time Amina said "Dada," Lena's heart squeezed a little tighter, knowin' Que was missin' these moments.
She picked up her phone and started recordin', catchin' Amina as she looked right into the camera, her eyes bright, sayin' with her sweet little voice, "Dada! We miss you, Daddy!" Lena smiled behind the camera, watchin' Amina reach her hands out like she was tryna pull him through the screen.
Sendin' the Videos
Lena sent the video to Que with a quick message: "She missin' you, baby. We both are. Can't wait till you back home." She hit send, hopin' it'd bring him some peace knowin' they were waitin' for him.
Not even five minutes later, her phone buzzed. Que had replied with a video of his own, his face lookin' a little tired but filled with love.
"Amina, Daddy miss you so much, baby girl," he said, his voice soft, filled with emotion. Then he looked straight into the camera, his eyes warm. "And Lena, I miss you too. Can't wait to be back, holdin' y'all close."
Amina's Reaction
Lena showed Amina the video, smilin' as baby girl clapped her hands and babbled back at the screen, pointin' like she understood it all. "Dada!" she squealed, reachin' for the phone like she could pull him out.
Lena chuckled, kissin' Amina's cheek. "He'll be home soon, baby. Daddy's comin' back to us."
Endin' the Night with Love
That night, Lena lay in bed, watchin' the video again, feelin' grateful for all they'd built together. She texted him one last time before sleep took over: "We love you, Que. Come home safe. We waitin' for you."
And with that, she drifted off, feelin' at peace, knowin' he was doin' everythin' he could to get back to them.
