A year had passed since Que and Lena left the city behind. They'd moved into their new home—a large, beautiful house surrounded by trees, with plenty of space for Amina to run around and grow. It was more than just a house; it was a symbol of the fresh start they'd fought for, a place where they could finally build their future without lookin' over their shoulders.

The early morning sunlight streamed into the spacious kitchen as Lena poured herself a cup of tea, watchin' Amina play on the floor with her building blocks. At almost two years old, Amina was a ball of energy, fillin' the big house with laughter and joy.

Que walked in from the backyard, dustin' off his hands, his face lookin' more relaxed and content than Lena had ever seen. He'd taken on a new job in construction, a way to keep busy while buildin' somethin' real and honest. His days were filled with work he could feel proud of, work that gave their family strength and security.

A New Chapter for Que and Lena

Que sat down at the long kitchen table, pullin' Amina into his lap as she babbled happily about her toys. He caught Lena's eye, smilin' as he reached across the table to hold her hand. "Feels good, don't it?" he said, his voice low and steady. "This peace... it's somethin' I didn't think I'd ever get."

Lena nodded, squeezin' his hand. "We worked for this, Que. We earned it." She looked around their big, open kitchen, feelin' a sense of pride and joy in what they'd built together. "I used to think we'd always have to look over our shoulder, but now... I just feel safe."

They shared a quiet moment, their fingers entwined, their hearts at ease. Que knew he'd finally closed the door on his old life. He was a father, a husband, a provider. And he was done with anything that could take him away from the two people he loved most.

A Celebration of Family

Later that evening, Lena's parents and a few close friends came by for a cookout in the backyard, fillin' the big house with even more love and laughter. Que manned the grill, while Lena and her mom prepared sides in the kitchen.

Jade and Renee, Lena's best friends, were there too, jokin' around and helpin' set up while playin' with Amina. The whole yard was filled with warmth and joy, and for the first time in years, Lena felt like her life was exactly where it was meant to be.

As the sun dipped below the trees, Que pulled Lena close, wrappin' his arms around her waist. "I'm proud of us," he murmured, kissin' her forehead. "We made it."

She smiled, leanin' into him. "And this is just the beginning, Que. We got a whole life ahead of us in this place."

They stood there, holdin' each other, feelin' the weight of the past finally lift as they looked toward a future that was theirs. This was their home, the life they'd built together. And as the night filled with the sounds of laughter and love, Que knew, deep down, that they were finally free.
