It had been a few days since Lena's parents came to visit, and things were startin' to feel a little more settled. The pep talk from her dad had given her a lot to think about, and she was feelin' more at peace with the decisions she had to make. But even with that sense of calm, there were still moments when everything felt a little too overwhelming.

That afternoon, Lena was loungin' on the couch, scrollin' through her phone when she heard a knock at the door. She wasn't expectin' anyone, so she hesitated for a second before gettin' up.

When she opened the door, she was surprised to see Que standin' there, lookin' a little more tense than usual. His hands were in his pockets, and his eyes had that look like somethin' was on his mind.

"Hey," she said, steppin' aside to let him in. "I wasn't expectin' you today."

Que stepped in, noddin' at her before sittin' down on the couch. "Yeah, I figured I'd stop by. I needed to talk to you about somethin'."

Lena raised an eyebrow, closin' the door behind him and sittin' down next to him. "What's up?"

The Truth Comes Out

Que took a deep breath, leanin' forward with his elbows on his knees. He was quiet for a moment, gatherin' his thoughts. Lena watched him, feelin' a knot form in her stomach. She could tell whatever he was about to say wasn't easy for him.

"I been thinkin' a lot lately," he started, his voice low. "About the baby, about us, and... everything in between."

Lena stayed quiet, givin' him the space to say what he needed to say.

"I know we said we was just gon' focus on co-parentin'," he continued, lookin' up at her. "And I respect that. I know I messed up, and I know things between us ain't been easy. But I can't lie, Lena... I still love you. I always have."

Lena's heart skipped a beat. She wasn't expectin' him to say that, at least not like this. She took a deep breath, tryin' to keep her emotions in check. "Que..."

He shook his head, cuttin' her off. "I know you don't gotta say nothin'. I just... I needed to get it off my chest. I can't keep pretendin' like I don't still care. Like I don't wanna be with you."

Lena looked away, her mind racin'. She wasn't sure what to say. She still had feelings for him, that much was clear. But things weren't that simple. They couldn't just pick up where they left off.

"I don't know what to say," she whispered, her voice barely audible. "I still care about you too, Que. But... it's not that easy. I can't just forget about everything that's happened."

Que nodded slowly, his eyes filled with regret. "I get that. And I ain't askin' you to forget. I just needed you to know where I stand. I'm here for the baby, but I'm here for you too. I want us to work."

Lena felt tears wellin' up in her eyes, but she quickly blinked them away. "I don't know if I can trust you again, Que. And even if I did, I don't know if I'm ready to let you back in like that."

Que sighed, leanin' back on the couch. "I understand. I ain't tryna rush you into nothin'. I just needed to be honest with you. I'm not givin' up, though. I'm gon' be here, no matter what."

Lingering Feelings

The room was quiet for a few moments after Que's confession. Lena could feel the weight of his words hangin' in the air, but she didn't know what to do with them. She loved him—there was no denyin' that. But she also couldn't ignore the fear that still lingered in her heart. She had seen him with that girl, and even though he said nothin' happened, the hurt was still there.

"I need time," she said softly, lookin' down at her hands. "I need to figure out what's best for me and the baby. I don't wanna rush into anythin' and end up hurt again."

Que nodded, his voice steady but soft. "I'll give you all the time you need, Lena. Just know I'm here."

As they sat in silence, Lena couldn't help but wonder if they would ever truly get back to where they once were. She knew Que was tryin', and part of her wanted to believe in him, to trust that he wouldn't let her down again. But the scars ran deep, and she wasn't sure if she could let herself fall again without the fear of bein' hurt.

A New Beginning?

After a while, Que stood up, ready to leave. He glanced back at her, a small smile on his lips. "I'm always gon' be here for you and the baby, Lena. No matter what."

Lena nodded, feelin' her chest tighten. "I know. Thank you."

As Que left, Lena sat back down on the couch, her mind swirling with everything he'd just said. She knew Que loved her—he had always been clear about that. But love wasn't always enough. Trust, loyalty, and honesty were just as important, and she wasn't sure if they could rebuild what had been broken.

But for now, she was takin' things one step at a time. There was no rush. She had a baby on the way, and that was her main focus. Whatever happened with Que, she'd deal with it when the time came.

For now, she had to figure out what was best for her and her child. And maybe, just maybe, she'd find her way back to Que. But only time would tell.
