Lena lay in bed, her mind driftin' back to the early days with Que. It had been five years, but every memory felt as clear as if it happened yesterday.

Flashback: The First Time He Approached Her

She was only 15, hangin' out with her girls on the block, laughin' and talkin' 'bout nothin' serious, when she first noticed Que. He was 17 back then, tall, confident, with a swagger that made him stand out. She'd seen him around, but that day, he actually came over, smilin' a little like he already knew what he wanted.

"Hey, I'm Que," he said, his voice smooth, and Lena felt a flutter in her chest she hadn't felt before. "I seen you around, thought I'd come say somethin'."

She'd played it cool, even though inside she was feelin' nervous. "Hey, Que. I'm Lena."

They talked for a while, and she quickly realized he wasn't like anyone else. He was different—confident, but respectful, curious 'bout her in a way that felt real. It was that first talk that got her, the way he looked at her like she was the only one in the world.

Flashback: When They Made It Official

A month later, Que asked her to be his girl. They'd been hangin' out, goin' on little "dates" around the neighborhood—walks, sittin' in the park, just talkin' for hours. He'd even bought her some flowers once, simple but sweet, and it made her feel special in a way she hadn't felt before.

One day, he took her hand and looked her straight in the eye. "Lena, I want you to be mine," he'd said, his voice soft but serious. "Ain't nobody else for me."

Her heart raced, but she didn't hesitate. She knew she wanted him too. "Yeah, Que. I'm yours," she'd replied, smilin' and feelin' like she'd found somethin' real.

From that day on, they were together, inseparable. He became her best friend, her safe place, the one she knew she could count on through anything.

Flashback: The First Time He Said "I Love You"

It was a quiet night, just the two of them sittin' on a bench near the water, lookin' at the stars. They'd been together a few months, and things had gotten real deep between them. He looked over at her, his eyes soft, and said, "Lena, I love you. I just... I feel like I've always known you, like you're the one I'm supposed to be with."

She'd felt her heart skip, those words hittin' her deep. "I love you too, Que," she'd whispered back, her voice barely a breath. And they'd shared a quiet moment, just holdin' each other, both knowin' they'd found somethin' rare.

Present Day

Back in her bed, Lena smiled to herself, rememberin' all those moments that had led them here. Que wasn't just her boyfriend, her fiancé—he was her everything, her partner through it all. They'd grown up together, built somethin' real, and now, years later, she knew in her heart she'd never want anyone else.
