It's late, and I can't shake the feelin' of missin' Lena and baby girl. Bein' out here, handlin' business, it got me focused, but that don't change the fact that I wish I was home. After a long day, all I want is to hear Lena's voice, feel that calm she bring me.

I pull out my phone and dial her number, hopin' she still up. She pick up on the second ring, and soon as I hear her voice, that warmth hit me.

"Hey, baby," she say, her voice soft, like she been waitin' on me too.

"Hey, Lena," I say, lettin' the sound of her voice settle me. "I just needed to hear you, needed to know y'all good."

She laughs a little. "We good, Que. Just missin' you. Amina been sayin' your name all day, babblin' like she tryna call you."

I smile, imaginin' my lil' girl callin' for me. "Man, I can't wait to be back. Miss both of y'all more than I can say."

There's a pause, and then I decide to bring up somethin' been on my mind. "So, I been thinkin' 'bout the weddin'. You got any idea when you wanna do it?"

She's quiet for a second, then says, "Honestly? I been thinkin' 'bout it too. Maybe we don't need to wait too long. Maybe we just pick a date, keep it simple."

I nod, even though she can't see me. "I like that. Somethin' intimate, with just family and close friends. Nothin' too big. Just us, like we always wanted."

"Yeah," she agrees, her voice soft. "I don't need nothin' fancy. I just want you. Us and our family."

This is the girl I've always wanted since day one. When I met her, I knew she'd be my wife. Now, hearin' her talk about our future, it just remind me how blessed I am to have her by my side.

Late-Night Plans

We keep talkin', laughin' about how Amina gon' look all dressed up, and how Lena wanna keep things simple, maybe even do it somewhere close to home. Just hearin' her voice got me feelin' grounded, like even though I'm out here, I'm still with them.

"Lena," I say, my voice low. "When I get back, we gon' start plannin' for real. Ain't no more waitin'."

She sighs, soundin' happy. "I'm holdin' you to that, Que. Can't wait to make it official."

I close my eyes, lettin' her words settle over me. I'm ready to come home, ready to make her my wife, to finally have everythin' we been talkin' about. And as we say our goodnights, I know in my heart, I'm gon' do whatever it takes to make that happen.
