Lena was officially past her due date, and every day felt longer than the last. She was more than ready to meet her baby girl, and each moment seemed to drag on as she waited for any sign that labor was on its way. She was exhausted, achy, and ready to be done with pregnancy.

With a doctor's appointment scheduled to assess whether she should be induced, Lena was feelin' a mix of nerves and relief. She just wanted to know when she'd finally hold her daughter in her arms. Her mom, dad, and Que joined her for the appointment, all of them feelin' the same anticipation as they waited for news.

In the waiting room, Lena leaned back, sighin' as her mom patted her hand comfortingly. "It'll be soon, honey. You're almost there," her mom said with a soft smile.

"I know, Mama," Lena replied, rollin' her eyes playfully. "But if this baby doesn't come out soon, I might lose it."

Her dad chuckled, shakin' his head. "Patience, sweetheart. She'll be here when she's ready—or when the doctor says she's ready."

Que sat quietly, his eyes occasionally driftin' to Lena, a look of worry and excitement in his gaze. Lena noticed, but she kept her focus on her own discomfort, not ready to acknowledge him just yet.

Finally, her name was called, and they all went back to meet with the doctor. After a quick check, the doctor let them know that Lena was indeed overdue and suggested scheduling an induction if there was no progress in the next day or two. Lena felt a wave of relief wash over her at the thought that soon—very soon—she'd finally be meetin' her little girl.

Que's POV

As Que sat beside Lena, tryin' to focus on her and the baby, his phone vibrated in his pocket. He knew who it was without even lookin'. Layla had been blowin' up his phone nonstop the past few days, gettin' more possessive and erratic with every message. She'd started makin' threats, claimin' she'd take him to court, demand child support, or even show up unannounced. It was all nonsense to him, and he'd done his best to ignore her, hopin' she'd get the message.

After they'd finished at the doctor's office, Que stepped aside, checkin' his phone out of frustration. Sure enough, there were multiple missed calls and a long thread of unread messages. He scrolled through them, skimming over her latest accusations and threats.

Layla: I know you're with her. Don't think I won't take you to court for every dime you have.

Layla: Oh, so she took y'all's pictures down from Instagram? Guess she finally found out I might be carrying your baby.

Layla: Don't think you can ignore me forever. I'll make sure she knows everything.

Que frowned, shocked at her mention of Instagram. He hadn't noticed Lena takin' their pictures down, and it caught him off guard. He wondered how much she'd been keepin' inside, realizin' she might be more hurt than she'd let on. But he quickly closed his phone, pushin' those thoughts away for now. Layla's games were gettin' old, and he was done lettin' her nonsense interfere with what really mattered—bein' there for Lena and their baby girl.

He returned to the group, tryin' to act like nothin' was wrong, but his mind was racin'. He knew he needed to figure out how to handle Layla, but for now, his focus was on Lena and the arrival of their daughter.

Waiting for Baby Girl

Back at Lena's place, she settled in, still feelin' the anticipation buildin' as she waited. Her mom stayed close, and Que hung around too, despite her quiet resistance. She knew she'd have to see him in the delivery room, and she'd made peace with that. But she kept her guard up, protectin' her heart from any hope of reconciliation. She was ready to let go of the past and move forward, one step at a time.

As the hours passed, Lena could feel herself growin' more at ease, mentally and emotionally preparin' for what was comin'. She was ready to meet her baby girl, ready to start this new chapter. And no matter what, she'd have the strength to handle whatever came next—for herself and for her daughter.
