Que had left that evening to handle some business, leavin' Lena alone with Amina. After puttin' her baby girl to bed, Lena settled in to finish her online classes, knockin' out some assignments, and studyin' a bit to keep her mind busy. The house was quiet, and for a while, she felt a bit of peace in the routine, just focusin' on her goals and takin' things one step at a time.

Once her work was done, Lena decided to make herself a little treat. She whipped up some chicken Alfredo with cheesy garlic bread, lettin' the smell fill the house as she cooked. It reminded her of nights back home, where the whole family would gather for meals like this, and the comfort settled her nerves a bit.

She grabbed her phone and sent Que a quick text: When you comin' home?

His response came a few minutes later: Not sure, still takin' care of things.

She sighed, typin' back: Alright, I'm headin' to bed. See you when you get back.

Three-Way Call with the Girls

Before headin' off to sleep, Lena decided to call her best friends, bringin' 'em in on a three-way call. She needed someone to talk to, and her girls were always there for her, no matter what.

As soon as they picked up, her friend Jade's voice filled the line. "Girl! You back for good now or what? You ain't say nothin' yet!"

Lena laughed, a bit of tension easin' up. "Yeah, I'm back, y'all. Ain't no point in stayin' out in North Carolina, not with all this goin' on. Figured it's best to be around people who got my back."

Her other friend, Renee, chimed in. "You made the right call, Lena. And I'm here anytime you need me, you know that."

Lena nodded, feelin' grateful for her girls. "Appreciate it, y'all. I just needed to catch my breath a bit. I'm keepin' busy with school, tryin' to stay focused, but things been... well, you know."

Jade chuckled. "Well, Renee got the inside scoop already. She's been talkin' to Que's best friend, you know he ain't keep no secrets."

Renee laughed. "Girl, he been fillin' me in, talkin' 'bout what Que's been dealin' with. I was tryin' to call you earlier, but I figured you was busy."

"My bad, Renee," Lena replied. "I was buried in schoolwork. Just tryin' to stay on top of things, keep my mind off all this mess."

Friends Supportin' Friends

The three of them talked for a while, sharin' updates and offerin' support. Lena felt her spirits lift as they laughed and swapped stories, helpin' her feel like things were normal, at least for a little while. Her friends were her lifeline, and no matter what was goin' on with Que or the situation at hand, she knew she'd always have her girls to lean on.

After a bit, Lena glanced at the clock, realizin' how late it was. "Alright, y'all, I gotta get some sleep. Amina's probably gon' have me up early."

"Get that rest, girl," Jade said, her tone soft but supportive. "And remember, we got you. Whatever you need, just hit us up."

"Goodnight, Lena!" Renee added.

Lena smiled, endin' the call. She felt a sense of calm as she headed to bed, knowin' she wasn't alone. No matter what challenges came their way, she knew she had people in her corner, and that made all the difference.
