It was a lazy Sunday afternoon, and the soft rays of sunlight filtered through the curtains, casting a warm glow in the cozy room. Kayden and Andy had just stirred from their slumber, the remnants of sleep still clinging to them. Wrapped in each other's warmth, Andy nestled deeper into Kayden's embrace, reluctant to let go of this peaceful moment.
“Good morning, sleepyhead,” Kayden murmured, a gentle smile playing on his lips as he leaned down to plant a soft kiss on Andy's forehead. The tender gesture made Andy's heart flutter, and she tightened her hold around him, her voice muffled but filled with affection as she replied, “Good morning.”
Andy gazed at Kayden, her eyes still heavy with sleep. “Should we get up now?” she asked softly, her arms refusing to loosen their grip.
Kayden chuckled lightly, the sound gruff but somehow charming as he shook his head. “No, not yet.” He buried his face in her hair, inhaling the familiar scent that reminded him of lazy mornings and comfort. “I don’t want to do anything today, just your cuddles. That’s all I need.” His voice was still thick with sleep, a raspy quality that added a unique allure to his words.
As they lay intertwined, time seemed to slow, and the outside world faded away, leaving just the two of them in their own little haven.
Their tranquil moment was unexpectedly disrupted by a firm knock on the door. Standing there was Ms. Patty, her voice slightly out of breath. "Sorry to interrupt, but Ms. Eli has arrived, Mr. Hayes," she announced, her eyes briefly darting around the room, taking in the cozy scene.
"Eli? What could she possibly want?" Kayden grumbled, his tone laced with reluctance. He remained nestled in Andy's embrace, unwilling to part from the warmth of her presence.
"Come on, we should get up. It must be important if Ms. Elena came all the way here," Andy replied, her voice light yet insistent. She playfully poked Kayden, who still lay sprawled on the bed, enveloped in disheveled sheets. "You’re definitely the sleepyhead today," she teased, a soft chuckle escaping her lips.
With a reluctant sigh, Kayden finally sat up. As he did, he resembled a figure straight out of ancient Greek mythology—tall, statuesque, and exuding a natural charisma. His tousled hair framed his chiseled features, enhancing his striking appearance. In that moment, Andy couldn't help but admire him; he was undeniably the most handsome man she had ever seen, embodying both strength and allure in a single glance.
After a while, Andy and Kayden made their way down the winding staircase, their fingers interlaced and broad smiles lighting up their faces. The warm afternoon sun streamed through the window, casting a gentle glow over the room. In the corner, Eli sat on the plush sofa, sipping juice that Ms. Patty had graciously served. As Andy caught sight of Eli, the smile on her face hesitated for a moment, shadows of memories flickering in her mind. She tried to shake off the unease, thinking, "Maybe she doesn’t remember me, right?"
Kayden, sensing the shift in the atmosphere, leaned towards Eli, eager to break the uneasy silence. "What brought you here?" he asked, his voice cheerful yet curious.
Eli looked up, her expression brightening. "What? I'm just here to congratulate both of you. Carl told me everything," she replied, her smile warm and genuine as her gaze flickered from Kayden to Andy, lingering on their intertwined hands.
Kayden leaned closer to Andy and murmured, "That big mouth," with a hint of playful disbelief, before they settled onto the armchairs opposite Eli.
Andy, wanting to maintain some formality, smiled and began, "Good afternoon, Ms. Elena, I’m—" but she didn’t have the chance to finish her introduction. Eli, anticipating her words, interjected smoothly, "Andy, right? We met before—remember?"
