Andy woke up in the middle of the night, drenched in sweat, as her recurring nightmare once again plagued her mind. The chilling images from the dream lingered in her thoughts as she lay awake, trying to shake off the feeling of dread that had engulfed her.

She promptly rose from her bed, her heart still racing from the nightmare that had jolted her awake. As she made her way to the kitchen, she could feel the lingering sense of fear and unease. She reached for a glass and filled it with cool, refreshing water, hoping that it would help to soothe her frayed nerves and bring her back to a sense of calm.

"What was that really about?" she said, her voice trembling as she held her chest, trying to calm herself down. After taking a few deep breaths, she made her way to her study room. There, she sat down and gazed at the book that had been sitting on the shelf, untouched and avoided for so long. Contemplating whether to open it, she felt a mix of curiosity and apprehension, not knowing if its contents held the answers she had been avoiding.

"No it can't be," she exclaimed. The last time she had flipped through those pages, they had been blank. How could it now contain the solution to her worst fears? Despite her reservations, she felt compelled to open it, clinging to the hope that it held the answers she sought.

With trepidation, she delicately turned the page, keeping her eyes shut tight. The fear of what she might find made her hesitant to look, but eventually, she summoned the courage to open her eyes. As the words came into focus, she was taken aback by what was written on the page, prompting her to read it with great care.

"K-Kayden!" She exclaimed in shock and disbelief as she came across the paragraph that revealed Kayden's untimely death. "W-what happened? He was supposed to be the hero of the story! Why does he have to die?" Her eyes welled up with tears as she painstakingly read through each sentence that depicted the heart-wrenching moment of Kayden's passing.

"N-No! This can't be happening! I'm sorry! It's my fault that the story changed!" She cried and cried until there were no tears left in her eyes.

"I need to come back! I need to save him! But how?" She paced back and forth, her mind racing as she desperately tried to think of every possible solution that could transport her back into the world of the novel, to the place where Kayden was.

After that day, Andy didn't show up for work, which caused Crystal to become increasingly concerned about her well-being. She started leaving frequent messages for Andy to check on her. "I'm really worried about Ms. Andy. It's so unlike her to be absent from work. Do you think I should pay her a visit at home?" Crystal asked her colleague as they discussed the situation.

"I think you should. You're her secretary after all. I'm worried for her too," said the girl.

Trusting her gut feeling, she decided to pay Andy a visit. She pressed the doorbell of Andy's condominium and patiently waited for her to answer.

After a few minutes, a disheveled Andy opened the door. Dark circles marred her eyes, her hair was thrown up in a haphazard bun, and she was still dressed in her pajamas. Glancing past her, it was evident that the table was strewn with books scattered in disarray.

"O Crystal, it's you. Do you need anything?" Andy asked as she opened the door and welcomed Crystal inside.

"Sorry for the mess. Please come in. Would you like some juice?" She offered while tidying up the cluttered table to make room for Crystal.

"Um, we were just worried about you, Ms. Andy. It's unlike you to be absent from work, so I decided to come here instead," Crystal replied with genuine concern etched across her face.

Andy paused from her work and gazed at Crystal. In that moment, she realized that there were people in the world who truly cared about her. The sincerity in Crystal's eyes and the earnestness in her voice moved Andy deeply, prompting her to make a decision that even she couldn't believe she was capable of.

After preparing a refreshing drink for Crystal, Andy made her way over to her and settled down beside her. A look of concern crossed Crystal's face as she gazed at Andy.

"Andy asked, "Can I trust you, Crystal?" She clasped Crystal's hand tightly, gently rubbing it.

Crystal met Andy's gaze and replied, "You can trust me with anything, Ms. Andy. I've vowed to stand by you till the end, haven't I?"

"Please promise me you won't think I'm insane or mad, okay?" she said, her grip on Crystal's hand tightening.

"I won't, I promise," Crystal replied reassuringly.

Andy released Crystal's hand and picked up the book. Its cover was adorned with vibrant flowers and depicted a beautiful sunset, with the silhouette of a man and a woman gazing into each other's eyes.

"I've become a character in this novel," Andy said, her expression grave as she handed the book to Crystal.

"I'm sorry, what?" Crystal exclaimed, her disbelief evident.
