Happy Diwali 🪔
_______
Nitya was sitting on the couch, waiting for her husband and brothers to come. Even though she acted nonchalant on the call, her heart was palpitating with the thought of that despicable man around her family.
"Niti" Meera said coming there with Shreya beside her.
"Di." Nitya stood up, giving Meera her hand.
"You look upset. Did something happen?" Shreya asked, looking at her worried face.
Nitya shook her head. "Nothing. Everything is sorted and at peace." She smiled as she looked at Meera, putting her hand on her stomach. "Just some days, and then we will have our munchkins around us." She smiled. It was the 9th month of Meera's pregnancy while Shreya was in her 5th month.
"I don't know how you are handling twins, Bhabhi. This one child's kicking makes it hard for me sometimes." Shreya pouted as Meera laughed at her situation.
"Well, you have to go through it to bring our child into the world. But once they are here, you will forget all your pain." She smiled while caressing her baby bump.
"Yeah, it will be worth it." Shreya smiled with her.
Nitya leaned back on the couch. "Thank God I am not pregnant."
"Well, that reminds us. What are you thinking about kids? Not that you have to have them so early, but I mean if you have any plans." Meera asked excited to pamper her younger one in her pregnancy.
"I will get pregnant when none of you will be pregnant so that I can rest all day and gossip with you and get pampered by you, and you guys could make no excuse of getting tired or anything." She giggled as the other two giggled with her.
"We will pamper you like anything." Meera patted her cheeks as she turned to Shreya. "I will miss you, Shreya." Meera looked down, feeling sad.
"Why will you miss her? Where is she going?" Nitya asked confused, as she didn't have any idea about Shreya's travels anywhere.
Shreya giggled "I am so excited. I missed them so much."
Nitya was confused about everything as she looked at them with furrowed brows. "What are you guys talking about? Who is going and where?"
"Did you forgot it's Rakshbandhan, so Shreya would be going to her home." Meera said not sure to ask Nitya considering the words her brother said last time.
"Oh," Nitya nodded. "Take my Rakhi also for Abhinav." Nitya said, remembering how Aniket forced her to tie Rakhi during her college time, and since 5 years she has been tying him Rakhi or she has been sure to courier his Rakhi and gift.
"Why don't you come with me to Mumbai?" Shreya asked her excitedly.
Before Nitya could say something, her phone rang, and she excused herself. It was Chaitra's call, and knowing well it's her 9th month ongoing, she didn't want to miss her call. But it was Drishith on the other side informing her that she is now an aunt of a beautiful child. She was more than happy to hear the news, as she forgot everything and instantly demanded to talk to Chaitra. While talking, she told her how she will buy so many things for her nephew, spoil him, and keep him for at least a month with her every year.
At night
Everyone was settled on the table when Rashmi spoke. "We got a call from Aravind ji. He told us about Chaitra." She said it with a smile.
"Yes, mom, I was thinking to inform everyone during dinner only."
"Oops, did I mess it up!" Rashmi said feeling bad if she messed up her announcement, while Nitya just giggled.
