Shivansh was late from the office today because of his meeting. Nitya understands his work just like he understand hers. He recently got a very big project, just one more week, and then he will be back to his usual schedule. She looked at the clock showing 10. She was lying there thinking of how she spent her evening with Aadhya, and suddenly it reminded her of her childhood, which also included her mother. She tried so much to ignore the thoughts, but she couldn't let those thoughts out of her mind while her eyes started getting teary.
Thinking of distracting herself, she held her phone in her hand and messaged Kshitij.
"What are you doing?"
Soon her phone pinged, it was a reply from Kshitij.
On dinner with Ekaksh
She looked at the message, and an emptiness filled her. She turned off her phone, not wanting to reply, as she lied back down on the bed, looking up at the ceiling as tears filled her eyes.
She closed her eyes to remember her mother's face, but there was none. For the first time, she saw someone else taking the shape of her mother, and it was none other than Rashmi. She instantly opened her eyes as she stood up.
Controlling her tears, she walked out of her room. Tears were still streaming blurring her vision as her feet walked towards the ground floor without her permission and she walked aimlessly.
After some seconds, she found herself outside a room. She stood there fidgeting with her hands and wiped her tears as she took deep breath, but her tears were not listening, and her heart was dying for some comfort and she ended up knocking on the door.
She stood there shifting from one leg to another until finally the door was opened by Rajveer.
"Beta......" He called her as she looked up, a little scared to bother them, but she knew them better.
Rajveer saw tears, and he instantly held her hand, bringing her inside. Rashmi saw Nitya with red eyes and red cheek and instantly stood up from bed.
Rajveer filled a glass with water, and she instantly gulped down the whole water.
"Did Shiv fight with you?" Rajveer asked, ready to give an earful to Shiv to make his daughter cry.
Nitya looked up at Rajveer and shook her head. "He isn't back yet." She sniffled cutely.
"That stupid man. He hates work but still works till late." Rajveer muttered as a hiccup heard again.
"Don't cry, bachha. Me and your papa will scold him." Rashmi said, hugging Nitya.
Nitya shook her head again. "I am missing my mom." She accepted and tightly hugged Rashmi as the couple went silent.
Nitya tightly hugged Rashmi as she caressed her head, lovingly kissing her hair. Rajveer patted her back as she pulled back from the hug.
Nitya looked at Rajveer, and he pulled her in a side hug. "Why are you crying then, Bachha? I am your father, and Rashmi is your mother. We are here. Don't we give you the same love?" Rajveer asked, caressing her hair.
"You love me more than my family ever did." She accepted without any shame.
"Then why are you crying, huhh!! We are here for you." Rashmi said lovingly.
Nitya wiped her tears as she looked at her real parents, who showed her what parents are actually like. "I..." She hiccupped, "Whenever I missed my mom, I always used to close my eyes and see her." She said, wiping her tears, and then looked at Rashmi, "But when I closed my eyes today, I saw you."
