053. WE CAN'T STOP

Chapter fifty three

"We can't stop." 

Running through the woods, the three had caught up with Glenn's group, as the horn was still going off, Glenn stopped running, breathing heavy "try again." he said, as Rick and Scarlett ran up to next to him, Rick brought up the walkie "Tobin, it's not stopping. Light it up. You hear me?" he asked, letting go of the button, but all they got in return was static crackling, as Rick pressed down on the button "Tobin!" he voiced, letting it go, a walker snarled, as the three began running again "Michonne." Rick told her "got it." Michonne said, killing the walker, as her and the alexandrian's followed behind them.

"Rick!" Daryl voiced over the walkie, Rick pressed down on the button "I'm here." he told him, letting go of it "what's going on back there?" Daryl asked, as Rick pressed down on the button "half of them broke off. They're going toward alexandria." he shared, letting go of it "toward's you?" Abraham asked, as Rick pressed down on the button "we ran ahead. There's a horn or something loud coming from the east. It's not stopping." he shared, letting go of it "I have an idea!" Scarlett voiced "I'll gas it up, turn back." Daryl said, Rick pressed down on the button "we have it. You keep going." he told him, letting go.

"They're gonna need our help." Daryl told him, as Rick pressed down on the button "gotta keep the herd moving." he told him, letting go of it "the idea?" he asked Scarlett "not if it's going down, we don't." Daryl said, as Rick pressed down on the button "the rest of that herd turns around, the bad back there gets worse." he shared, letting go of it, Daryl didn't say anything back as he pressed down "Daryl?" he asked "yeah, I heard you." Daryl told him, as they were continued running up hill, Glenn stopped, as Scarlett passed him so did Rick as the two were running side by side "the plan?" he asked.

"It's risky but I think the two of us could circle back and get to that RV. If we can get it in front of the one's heading back home. We can put them back on track before they get there." Scarlett shared, as Rick nodded, the two stopped at the top, as the others came and joined them "all right, listen up. Here's the new plan. Me and Scarlett go back, get the RV, circle around the woods on redding. We'll get in front of them before they get there. We can lead them away again." Rick shared "which means all you guys have to do is get home. They'll need you there more then we do." Scarlett shared "Glenn, Michonne." Rick told them, as the four of them walked off.

"If something's in front of you, you kill it. No hiding, no waiting. You keep going." Rick shared "I'm coming with you. You two can't do this on your own." Glenn shared, as Rick and Scarlett turned to him "Glenn, we can do this." Rick told him "you need to help me. We've gotta get these people back." Michonne shared "whoever can make it. Because truth is not all of them are gonna make it back." Scarlett shared "Scarlett." Michonne told her "no, she's right. You try to save them , you try, but they can't keep up, you keep going. You have to. You make sure you get back." Rick shared, as the four looked at each other.

A scream could be heard, as they all ran over, one of the men was on the ground with a walker biting him right in the neck, as Glenn and Rick pulled them apart, Michonne stabbed the walker in the head, while Scarlett stabbed the man in the head, everyone watched her do it, as the horn stopped "the horn stopped. Good." Rick shared, as Scarlett took the man's knife, his gun, and anything else he had on him "get back safe." Rick told them all, as Scarlett stood up and turned walking off, Rick followed after her.

But soon the two started running, as they were out of the woods and back on the road, they were moving as fast as there feet could take them, as there were three walkers in front of them feeding on a corpse, the two stopped running "Rick, Scarlett, it's Glenn." Glenn said, as his voice came through the walkie, Rick and Scarlett pulled out their knives, walking toward's the walkers "we're in a town five degrees east of the green marker. If you get around on redding in th enext twenty minutes, you should be good. I think that's how far we're ahead on the herd." Glenn shared, as Rick stabbed the walker that stood up.
