094. I KNOW THAT YOU'LL DO THIS FOR ME

Chapter ninety four

"I know that you'll do this for me."

Sitting at the dinner table, Scarlet, Judith, Caroline, Daryl and Rick were laughing "you've got ketchup all over your face." Scarlett told Judith, as they all laughed, Judith grabbed her napkin wiping it off her face, as Daryl came walking over and sat down with them, Judith still didn't get it "here." Scarlett told her, taking the napkin and wiping it off for her "do we get pudding for desert?" Caroline asked, as Scarlett smiled "of course." she told her, and Daryl knew they had it for Carl.

The next morning, through the radio they had heard that a tree fell down at hilltop so Michonne and Eugene and a few others went to check on it, while Scarlett stayed back, she was cleaning up the kitchen, as Judith came walking in "mom?" she asked "yes, little duck?" Scarlett asked her "I saw Carol's bandages. I know the skins shot at her." Judith shared, as Scarlett put the last dish away and turned to her "little duck, Carol shot at them." she shared "is that why they took more land?" Judith asked, as Scarlett stepped toward's her, she crouched down "you, Caroline, Daryl and Rick don't have to worry about this. Mommy has it under control." she shared.

"Then why did you stay instead of going to the hilltop?" Judith asked her "because mommy's been fighting a lot and mommy knows that's what the whisperers want so they can take advantage of us. So I'm taking a step back to strategize." Scarlett shared, kissing her on the forehead "now you go join your brothers and sisters cause I heard they were giving dog a bath but I think they were using the hose outside." she shared, as Judith laughed, Scarlett laughed, as Judith hugged her, she went running off to check on the others, as Scarlett followed her out of the house, Judith went running down the steps, hearing dog barking she ran toward's it.

As Scarlett smiled watching her go, she turned to her left and noticed Lydia hiding there "hey, you okay?" she asked her "just trying to clear my head." Lydia shared, as Scarlett sat down on the steps, she patted the one next to her, as Lydia walked up and sat next to her "what happened?" Scarlett asked her "Gage and his friends started again today." Lydia shared "and what have you been doing to stop it?" Scarlett asked "Negan told me to kill em with kindness." Lydia shared, as Scarlett hummed "I thought that way once tried to tell a mom to deal with her son or I'll deal with him myself." she shared.

As Lydia furrowed her brows "what happened?" she asked "a lot of stuff lead up to it but the boy ended up shooting Carl's eye out." Scarlett shared, her voice breaking "I'm sorry, I didn't.." Lydia said, as Scarlett shook her head "no, he survived. He just..he got bit. Which is a whole other thing even after all these years that I'm still dealing with." she shared, clearing her throat and standing up "um, where are you going?" Lydia asked her "to deal with it. Come on." Scarlett told her, walking down the steps, Lydia got up and followed after her.

Having found a dead squirrel, Scarlett walked into the mess hall, as Lydia followed behind her, Scarlett walked right up to Gage and his friends table, sitting down at it "can we have some room, please?" Gage asked "now here's where your mistaken." Scarlett shared, pulling out her knife and started gutting the animal "I am not some teenage girl you can scare off. I mean have any of ever really been on the end of a knife before? Hmm? Had to make the decision whether you live or whether you die? Cause I have. And usually the other person in the end of it, ends up looking like this.." she shared, holding the animal outwards them, it's guts were on the outside of it's body.

"Jesus christ!" Gage voiced, standing up, he looked like he was gonna throw up, everyone in the mess hall looked at them "so now unless you'd like this to end up being one of you or all three of you. I suggest you leave the poor girl alone." she shared, standing up, putting the blood on her hands, on the two faces, she grabbed her knife and walked off with Lydia.

Having gone home, Scarlett was washing the blood off her hands while Lydia was eating lunch with the kids, Daryl walked up to her "I heard about what you did." he shared "they deserve it and a whole lot worse if they don't listen to me." Scarlett shared "I know. But you know you can't be doing shit like that." Daryl shared, as Scarlett turned to him "and I'm not gonna let them kill her Daryl. Even if it turns everyone here against me." she shared, walking out of there.

That night, Scarlett was sitting at Carl's grave when she heard the sounds of fighting, as she stood up, running off, she found Margo, Gage and Albert kicking Lydia, as she ran up, tackling Margo to the ground, Margo rolled them over and put her hands around Scarlett's neck "you psychotic bitch!" she voiced, as Scarlett reached into her holster for her knife "get off of her!" Lydia voiced, trying to get to her, Gage held her back, as Scarlett began to feel herself going unconscious, Negan ran up and grabbed Margo, throwing her into the wall behind them.

Scarlett started coughing as she moved toward's Lydia, she shoved Gage and Albert off of her, Lydia grabbed onto her as she cried, Scarlett ran her hand through her hair "it's okay. Your safe." she told her, her voice coming out scratchy, Negan watched them "we were just trying to scare her." Gage said, his voice breaking "yo, Negan! What the hell's going on back here?" the guard asked, as he walked up "holy shit, Margo. Margo." Albert said, as Scarlett turned she saw the woman's head bleeding on the wall, as she turned looking up at Negan, she knew that happened cause he was saving her, as the guard ran off.

Daryl and the others then came over, as Daryl crouched down to Scarlett, he noticed the hand marks on her neck "are you okay?" he asked her "I'm fine.." Scarlett told him, her voice coming out scratchy, Daryl scoffed "should have never let him out." a man said, as Gage stepped forward "you freak. This is your fault!" he voiced, as Scarlett looked up at him "leave her alone!" she voiced, it coming out scratchy "okay. Okay." Daryl told her, putting his arms around her "it was Negan! Negan killed her!" Albert voiced "no, he didn't do anything wrong. No, it wasn't..he didn't do anything." Lydia shared "now get him out of here!" Daryl voiced, as Scarlett grabbed onto him, shaking her head, no "move!" Daryl voiced, as Scarlett hit him "I know. I know." Daryl told her, grabbing her hands.

Having gone home, Scarlett was looking at the marks on her neck, knowing if Rick was there he would've killed her, stabbed her in the throat like she did for him or probably even had thrown her in the wall as well, but he wasn't here just like everyone kept saying outside, that she wasn't enough to save him no more, but he saved her, and she couldn't just let them execute him, not after her and Rick chose to save him.

Having waited till everyone was off the streets, Scarlett headed out of her house, and down the street to Negan's cell, she opened up the door and as she did, she leaned against it "Gave, coming to give me our final talk?" Negan asked, as Scarlett pushed off the door and walked toward's the cell, Negan sat up "and your not Gabe." he told her "you saved me." Scarlett told him, her voice came out scratchy still "and if my husband were here he would've done the same but he would've killed her not by accident." she said, wincing as it hurt to speak "Scarlett.." Negan said, standing up

"I hate the way they're all talking about my husband and about me...like everything we've done doesn't matter...like we..like I don't matter.." Scarlett shared, taking a deep breath "and I've been doing a lot of thinking and Judith asked me this morning why I chose to stay and I told her it was to take a step back and strategize. Because I know that we can't take down alpha, not only does she have a hoard at her disposal but she's willing to kill every single one of us including my kids. Which is why.." she shared, looking down at the keys "I need someone she's never seen. Someone who can infiltrate her group and bring back her head." she shared.

Looking up at him "and after what you've done for me tonight, I know that you'll do this for me." she told him, and as she did, Negan stepped toward's the cell "I promise you that I will kill her." he told her, as the two of them stood there looking into each other's eyes.

And the thing about letting Negan go last night was that by morning, Rachel from oceanside had come over the radio saying that she believed that where the mask had washed up that one of the whisperers were watching them, and when she told people at hilltop about it, Luke from there said he'd want to come with, and Scarlett knew with the way people were talking she could've leave their kids there, so she piled them all into a wagon along with some supplies and headed off toward's hilltop to pick up Luke then off to oceanside.
