031. A PEACEFUL LIFE

Chapter thirty one

"A peaceful life."

It had been six months since then and in that time, anytime they would go on runs they always seemed to come back with more people to stay in the prison with them but soon Hershel had pulled Rick from the runs and started to teach him how to farm and in time so did Carl where they had been growing and catching their own food even had pigs and horses. And since Rick had stepped down from making the decisions for everyone that had become the job of the council which consisted of Hershel, Glenn, Daryl and Sasha.

And as for Michone, she was always coming and going, out looking for the governor, but every time she came back she'd bring comic books for Carl who would stay up till late in the evening reading them with a flashlight. Where Scarlett spent her time looking after Judith who was practically growing up in front of their eyes, but as for her and Rick since the moment the two kissed they couldn't keep their hands off each other where anytime they had a moment to themselves they were sneaking off somewhere to have sex.

Where the two weren't sleeping in the bunks but had a mattress on the floor with blankets and pillows, Judith's crib was against the wall, as the two were lying there naked and tangled in the sheets, Rick's alarm went off and as it did, Scarlett reached her hand out, hitting it to shut it off "I can't believe you have to go." she told him, as Rick rolled over kissing her, Scarlett kissed him back, putting her arms around his neck "maybe you could come out and check the snares with me today." Rick told her.

As Scarlett hummed "sounds romantic." she told him, chuckling "very." Rick told her, as he kissed her again, he then pulled away from her and stood up to get changed, Scarlett laid her head back down, knowing if Judith wasn't up yet neither was she, where Rick had gotten dressed as he kneeled down to her "if you don't get dressed I'm gonna have to join you back in this bed." he told her, as Scarlett smirked "then who would check on your soy beans?" she asked him, and as she did, Rick climbed on top of her, as Scarlett laughed, Rick kissed her again.

Where soon, Rick had headed out and as he did, Scarlett had gotten up and got changed, picking Judith up from her crib, she headed outside, where everyone was eating, she grabbed some cereal and would feed some to herself and some to Judith, where when they were done, she walked the two back inside and put Judith on the ground, giving her the wooden horse to play with that Daryl had made for her, she turned grabbing her holster and putting it around her, knowing if Rick wasn't gonna take his gun out with them, she would, as she leaned down, kissing Judith on the forehead, she stood up and walked out.

Having met up with Rick, he had his gun with him, as the two headed out into the woods, grabbing the rabbit from the snare, the two began walking to check the others, as Rick was putting it in the bag, they found a boar that was dead and had fly's all around it, where unlike usual the smell made Scarlett feel sick as she put her hand over her mouth, Rick noticed it "the next snares not that far. Come on." he told her, putting his arm around her, as the two walked off.

Where as they made it to the next snare, there was a boar caught in it, but before they could get too close to it, a rustling could be heard, as Rick and Scarlett moved behind the tree nearby, they watched a walker walk up to the deer and fall down to it "let's go." Rick whispered to Scarlett, as he turned around, Scarlett went to follow him, as he stepped on a branch.

"Wait." the women said, as Scarlett and Rick furrowed their brows turning and looking at her, seeing as she looked more like a walker then a live person "please." the women said, standing up, holding her arm out "please? Please help me. I know you don't know me. Okay, I know that. But can you please help me get this to my husband? We haven't eaten in days." the women shared, as Rick walked toward's her taking off his gloves, Scarlett followed behind him, as Rick put his gloves into his bag, he then pulled out a sandwich, holding it out to her "here. Go ahead." he said, as the women walked forward, reaching out for it, she grabbed it "thank you." she said, as Rick let it go.
