Chapter sixty six

"We're here for Daryl."

They all were inside talking to Gregory "no. No way in hell. That was not the deal. You people swore you could take the savior's out, and you failed. Any arrangement.." Gregory was saying "we didn't fail." Scarlett told him, as Gregory looked to her "excuse me?" he asked "we did what you asked. We killed everyone at that outposts. It's you and Jesus who neglected to mention the fact that the saviors and Negan don't just work and live out of that place that you and your farmers used to bring your supplies to but that it's an entire group of people. Who all call themselves Negan." Scarlett shared, stepping toward's the desk.

"Especially since I heard while we were waiting for you that when they attacked this place the other night you stayed in here and hid like you always do while Maggie and Sasha saved everyone here. You started this." she told him "you started it." Gregory told her, as Rick stepped forward "we did. And we're gonna win." he said "these are killers." Gregory told them "is this how you want to live? Under their thumb, killing your people?" Rick asked "sometimes we don't get to choose what our life looks like. Sometimes, Lottie and Ricky, you have to count the blessings you have." Gregory told them.

As Maggie stepped forward "how many people can we spare? How many people here can fight?" she asked "we?" Gregory asked, scoffing "I don't even know how many people we have, Margaret. And does it even matter? I mean.." he said, sighing "w..what are you gonna do? Start a platoon of sorghum farmers? Cause like Lottie pointed out that's what we got. They grow thing. They're not gonna want to fight." he shared "you're wrong. When people have the chance to do the right thing, they usually step up. I mean, people just.." Tara was sharing "let me stop you before you break into song, okay?" he asked.

As Tara looked at them shocked "and by the way, who would train all this cannon fodder?" Gregory asked 'I will." Sasha said, at the same time as Rosita said "give me a week." as Gregory' eyes went wide "rhetorical, okay? I don't wanna know. I never wanna hear another word about it, ever." Gregory shared, as Rick stepped closer, holding his hand out "would we better off without the saviors, yes or no?" he asked him "yeah. Sure okay." Gregory told him, as Scarlett put her hands on Rick, he stepped back as she stepped forward "so what are you willing to do to make that happen?" she asked.

"Nothing. I haven't simply had a problem. You did. And what happens outside of my purview. Is outside of my purview." Gregory shared, as Daryl pushed off the wall "what the hell, man? You either with us or you ain't. You sitting over there talking out of both sides of your mouth." Daryl shared, as Gregory stood up "I think I've made my position very clear and I wanna thank all of you for not being here today and not having this meeting with me or..or being seen on your way out. In other words, go out the back." he told them, as Scarlett put her hands on the desk and leaned forward "thank you." she told him.

As Gregory leaned toward's her "your.." he said, as Scarlett brought her hand up, slamming his head into the desk, as she turned walking out, Gregory lifted his head up and as it did, his nose was bleeding "you broke my nose, Lottie!" he voiced "it's been a long time coming!" Scarlett voiced, as the others began following her out "yeah, we don't need him anyway." Daryl said "yeah, that's right. Cause we have Maggie, Sasha and Jesus here." Rick shared, as the door opened "and.." Maggie said, as Enid walked in "Enid." Maggie said "hey, um.." Enid said "what's wrong?" Sasha asked her.

"Nothing. Just.." Enid said, chuckling "come outside." she told them, as she turned walking back out, they all followed her, people from the hilltop were standing there "what's going on?" Maggie asked "hey. So, if you don't remember, I'm Bertie. And I owe my life to you all, twice over. A bunch of us do. Enid says that you want Gregory to get us to fight the saviors with you. Is that true?" Bertie asked "yes." Maggie told her "do you think we can win, that we really would beat them? Us?" Bertie asked "I do." Maggie said.
