084. WE'RE NOT TAKING ANY CHANCES

Chapter eighty five

"We're not taking any chances."

Scarlett was sitting out by that bridge, having come here every day for every year since he..she wasn't sure what he was but she always wore his clothes to keep him with her, as she was wearing his brown coat with the white fur trim on it, and even though Judith was old enough for it now she knew she wasn't ready for it, what it meant and she felt like she needed that strength that Carl said came from it because she didn't feel it when he gave it to her the first time and even after all these years she didn't feel it now, and she also no longer had her sword, not that it got lost, she just felt like after the day he died it wasn't her anymore.

"I'm here. And I know your here or..or somewhere cause after all these years I can't..I can't accept that your just gone. Just like I still don't accept that Carl is gone. I'll never him leave him alone and I'll never leave you alone. And our kids.." she said, her voice breaking, remembering what happened to all of them "even with everyone around me trying..trying to help. They don't..they don't understand. I'm raising four kids on my own. And I am holding on as tight as I can because I can't let them go. If I let them go just for a second..bad things happen. But you know that. And you also know what needs to happen, to keep happening, to keep them all alive. And I'm gonna do that. For me. For you. For both of us." she shared.

Standing up, she put the hat on her head and put Rick's gun in her holster, as she turned walking toward's her horse, where Rick'd bat that he had used was on it, as she grabbed onto the saddle and climbed onto it, she pulled on the reigns and began galloping off down the road.

Meanwhile in the woods, Rosita was running as she came to a stop "Judith!" she called out "Caroline!" Laura called out, as Eugene was standing to their left with a deer "Daryl!" Aaron called out "we're here." Judith said, as she came running up, Caroline and Daryl kept their weapons aimed behind them "are you okay?" Aaron asked Judith, as Rosita and Laura ran up to the twins "Daryl, Caroline, what's up?" Rosita asked "people. Told them to stay there until we got you guys but they didn't listen." Daryl shared "it's true. He told them to put their weapons down and hands up or we don't shoot you. Didn't last." Caroline shared.

As Rosita and Laura moved the two behind them, Aaron did the same with Judith "we heard them calling. They needed our help." Judith shared "our rig..got overrun by sickos." Luke shared, as Eugene dropped the deer "we owe our lives to this trio here." Luke added on "that's Luke. The one on the ground is Kumiko. The one with the curly hair is Magnus. And the other two are Connie and Kelly." Daryl shared, as Judith grabbed Aaron's bag "they still need our help." she told them, handing it to Kumiko who began drinking all their water.

"We can't. You know that." Rosita told her "but.." Judith said "there is not but you know the rules." Caroline told her "hey, uh, I dabbled in the culinary arts, uh, once upon a time ago, and, uh," Luke said "Luke." Kelly said "you know, with a little bit of help, I can whip this buck into a mighty fine osso buco." Luke said "shut up!" Daryl voiced, as they all looked at him with wide eyes "he's a bit of a trash mouth. Comes with the name sake. We make stew. More mileage for the masses." Eugene shared, as Daryl looked to him "dude, shut it!" he voiced "there are more of you?" Magnus asked.

As Daryl looked to her "no." him and Caroline told her "way more, with walls and.." Judith was saying, as the twins looked to her "shut up!" the two voiced, then Daryl noticed the one girl waving her hands around "is that..is that some secret code.." he questioned, as three walkers came walking up "in coming." Kelly voiced, as Eugene and Laura went ahead, Eugene killed the three of them "there's more on the way. We gotta get out of here." Laura shared, as Judith looked to Rosita "they need food, water and medicine." she shared "no what they need to be is lucky they're not dead. We lust leave em and go." Caroline shared "if they don't go, I don't go." Judith shared.
