Chapter forty one

"Marry me." 

Having been walking along the road, they soon stopped, as Scarlett sat down and was feeding Judith her bottle, Carl was sitting next to her, Rick was sitting across from them, as he looked away at the girl "I'll be right back." he told them "okay." Scarlett told him, as Rick stood up, walking off, Scarlett turned and looked at Carl "I'm sorry for taking her from you. Things just have been.." she shared, as Carl looked at her "I know." he told her, as Scarlett noticed the scratches on his face, she brought her hand up to it "I'm sorry I didn't come find you. You wouldn't have been in there if I had." she told him.

As Carl shook his head "they didn't do that." he told her, looking away from her, Scarlett's eyes went wide "Carl." she told him, as Carl looked back at her "I remembered what you told me to do. Dad..he killed them." he whispered to her, and as he did, Scarlett put her arm around him, pulling him into her chest, she looked at Rick knowing they both killed for their kids.

Where as night came, Carl and Judith were sleeping in her arms, Rick came walking over, sitting behind Scarlett, he put his arms around her, as Scarlett leaned into his chest "did he tell you?" Rick asked her "I had a talk with him about something like that back at the prison. I wanted to make sure if it happened that he was safe and you kept him safe." Scarlett shared, as Rick grabbed her hand "what happened?" he asked her, having noticed them before including the one on her leg.

"We were with Lizzie and Mika. Lizzie was caring more about walkers then people." Scarlett told him, taking a deep breath "Tyreese and Carol had gone out of the house to get water. Then I heard Mika screaming, begging her sister to stop and she screamed and then stopped. So I ran with Judith, put her in the closet in the bedroom and went in the bathroom and waited for her. And she called out for me and I didn't move but Judith started crying and then she went to go to her and I..I had no choice but to fight her. Which is how I cut my hands holding the knife away from her trying to stab me and my leg is from when I kicked the gun away from her that she was gonna shoot me and she cut me and climbed on my back where I ended up smashing a lamp into her head and grabbing the knife and killing her brutally." she shared, shaking her head.

"Nobody would've done that." she told him, as Rick brought his hand up to her face, turning her to look at him "I did. First the man who was gonna kill me? I ripped his throat out. Then went and stabbed the one who had Carl. We..we did that." he shared "at the prison, I was gonna go down there to you but Daryl..Daryl stopped me. But I couldn't..I couldn't get away from that fence without knowing if you were gonna die or not down there and then i saw him.." Scarlett shared, looking down "he was killing you and in the end it..it killed me. I lost our baby." she shared.

As Rick lifted his head up to her "I know." he told her, his voice breaking, as he leaned his head against her's "there was so much blood I..I thought you were dead. I..I dreamed of you." he told her "I couldn't sleep. When ever I closed my eyes I saw you dying all over again." Scarlett told him "I'm sorry." Rick told her "where when we made it to that man's cabin and he was talking on that radio about the samurai I was gonna just put my gun up against his head and threaten him but then he mentioned the kid in that and I knew that it was Carl and I lost it. I wanted to kill him, but I couldn't because I needed to know if you were in there too. Practically started strangling him when he asked why but before I could ask Tyreese pulled me off of him." Scarlett shared.

Shaking her head "it was stupid because all it did in the end was almost get Judith killed because he put his hands around her neck, and she started crying and that's.." she shared, her voice breaking "that's why I stepped back before because that's what he told me to do to keep her alive.." she told him, crying, Rick started crying as he kissed her, Scarlett kissed him back.
