With a determined expression, Giyuu set off in the direction Sanemi had stormed off to.
The snow was untouched, except for a trail of deep footprints leading away from where Giyuu and Kyojuro had been standing.
Giyuu followed them, his heart heavy with concern.
Sanemi didn't know where he was going and continued to run away blindly, far away off to a mountain. But it really wasn't any other mountain.
It was the same mountain where Giyuu and him had went, back when they were together.
The memories were still fresh as new, which he recalled as he hurried to the top, where he was once with Giyuu, sitting and laughing, hand in hand.
His breath came out in harsh puffs as he climbed the familiar mountain, his mind consumed with memories of the happier times with Giyuu.
He finally reached the peak, the exact spot where they had sat hand in hand, laughing and talking for hours.
Sanemi sat down quietly, the old memories rushing down his mind.
"So you're not gonna let me take care of you, huh?"
Giyuu's voice seemed to echo in the back of his mind.
Sanemi seemed to remember Giyuu's pout, the warmth of his hand in his own, the gentle way he'd spoken.
"Tomioka..."
Sanemi mumbled quietly, wishing for everything to get back to how it was.
He seemed to fight back tears as he kept quiet.

As Giyuu followed Sanemi's footprints, the sun began to set, casting long shadows and painting the sky with hues of orange and red.
The temperature had really dropped, and the wind picked up, rustling the trees and whistling ominously.
"Where are you, Shinazugawa-San!?"
He muttered, frustration filled in his voice.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, the full moon rose, casting an eerie glow over the snow-covered landscape.
Sanemi looked at the snow covered land underneath him, his knees drawn up to his chest.
He looked up at the moon, remembering that one night he'd spent with Giyuu, when he was walking back with him from a mission.
"...I think you're a really good person, sure, not at all times... but, recently I've realised that you're kind, and you care about everyone around you. And that, has made me like you more."
Giyuu's voice seemed to replay out of Sanemi's memories, as if it was still alive and was happening right now.
Tears streamed down Sanemi's face as the memories flooded back. The way Giyuu had smiled at him that night, the slight awkwardness, the realisation that he was slowly falling in love.
"Why... why did it have to change?" Sanemi sobbed, his voice breaking.
He hugged his knees tighter, burying his face in his arms as he wept.
"Why... can't it be like it was before? Why... can't he look at me like that again?"
He cried, his heart aching with a pain that felt unbearable.
"Why can't I... be a good partner!?"
Sanemi continued to cry, his teardrops soaking his pants wet.

A few minutes had passed by, and Sanemi's sobs had quietened down a bit, though he still sniffled and his tears still streamed down his cheeks.
No matter what, he had to face the reality. The fact that he was completely alone. The fact that Giyuu was no longer with him.
Sanemi continued to recall that old night, the walk back to the headquarters. He didn't walk back empty-handed that night, but with newfound feelings and emotions.
