Fem Y/N
The Wakandan sun was high, casting its golden glow over the sprawling Vibranium Research Center. The facility was a masterpiece of design, seamlessly blending futuristic architecture with the natural beauty of Wakanda's lush landscape. Y/N adjusted the strap of her bag, feeling a mix of awe and excitement as she walked beside none other than King T'Challa himself.
"Do you often give personal tours, Your Majesty?" Y/N teased, her voice light and playful as she glanced at him.
T'Challa chuckled, his deep, rich laugh warming the air. "Only for the most exceptional visitors. And please, call me T'Challa. Formalities make me feel... well, like a king."
Y/N grinned. "Noted, T'Challa. But I have to say, it's a little intimidating to have royalty showing me around."
"I wouldn't worry," he replied with a smile that crinkled the corners of his eyes. "In Wakanda, we pride ourselves on hospitality. Besides, I'm not just a king; I'm also your personal guide today."
The two walked through the facility, with T'Challa explaining the innovations developed by Wakanda's brightest minds. From Vibranium-powered medical devices to energy-efficient infrastructure, the technology was unlike anything Y/N had ever seen.
"You know," Y/N said, pausing to examine a sleek, glowing device that hummed softly on a display pedestal, "the rest of the world could solve so many of its problems with just a fraction of what you've created here."
T'Challa nodded, his expression thoughtful. "Yes, but sharing our resources is... complicated. Wakanda's history has taught us to be cautious. There are those who would misuse what we offer."
Y/N tilted her head, studying him. "You don't seem like someone who takes those decisions lightly."
"I don't," he admitted. "It's a constant battle between what is right and what is safe. But perhaps..." He paused, his gaze locking onto hers. "Perhaps with voices like yours advocating for the right reasons, we might one day find balance."
Her cheeks warmed at his words. "Careful, T'Challa, I might start to think you're trying to flatter me."
He smirked, the corners of his lips quirking upward. "And if I were?"
"Then you'd be succeeding."
The easy banter between them continued as they moved deeper into the facility. Y/N couldn't help but admire T'Challa's blend of charm and humility. Despite his regal bearing, he spoke to her as an equal, genuinely interested in her insights and opinions.
As they entered a lab brimming with holographic displays and intricate machinery, Y/N couldn't resist asking, "How much of this is your sister Shuri's doing?"
"Ah," T'Challa said, his face lighting up at the mention of his sister. "Quite a bit. Shuri has a way of making even the impossible seem routine. I'm merely here to ensure she doesn't turn the entire country into one giant science experiment."
Y/N laughed, the sound echoing softly in the lab. "She sounds incredible."
"She is," he said fondly. "Perhaps I can introduce you two. I suspect you'd get along famously—assuming she doesn't try to recruit you on the spot."
"Tempting," Y/N said with a grin. "But I'm not sure I could keep up with Wakandan brilliance."
"You underestimate yourself, Y/N," T'Challa said, his tone earnest. "You have a brilliance of your own."
The moment hung between them, charged and unspoken. But before either could say more, the building suddenly shuddered. Alarms blared, red lights flashing as the holographic displays flickered.
