Fem Y/N
The afternoon sunlight spilled over the sprawling garden in the greenhouse on the outskirts of the Justice League Watchtower, bathing it in golden warmth. Y/N knelt in the soil, her hands carefully tending to a cluster of budding roses. Vines and leaves seemed to sway gently around her, responding to her quiet presence as if she were their lifeline. Her affinity for plants was more than just a power—it was a bond, one that kept her grounded amidst the chaos of superhero life.
"Hey, Y/N!" a familiar voice called out, startling her. A gust of wind swept by, rustling the leaves as a blur of red and gold screeched to a halt next to her. "You're like a literal goddess of the garden out here. You know that?"
Y/N sighed, brushing dirt from her hands. "Wally, do you ever stop talking?"
"Not when I'm around you," he replied with his trademark grin, holding out a neatly wrapped box. "Speaking of which—ta-da! For you."
She eyed the package warily. "What is it this time? A bouquet of flowers? Another pack of plant seeds?"
"Nope. Even better. Open it!" He beamed like a kid on Christmas morning.
With a reluctant sigh, Y/N pulled apart the wrapping to reveal a small, intricately carved wooden box. Inside lay a delicate charm bracelet, each charm shaped like a different plant. Her fingers hovered over it, betraying a flicker of appreciation before she quickly composed herself.
"Wally... This is sweet, but I don't need gifts," she said, closing the box and handing it back to him. "We've talked about this."
"Yeah, yeah," he said, shoving the box into her hands. "But hear me out—every charm represents a plant you've talked about before. See? That's a sunflower. And that's ivy. And—okay, maybe I googled some of them—but still. Pretty cool, right?"
Y/N tried to suppress a smile but failed. "You're relentless, you know that?"
"Only for you," Wally said with a wink, leaning casually against a tree. "So, how about dinner tonight? Just us. Somewhere nice. We can talk about photosynthesis or whatever you're into."
She groaned, rolling her eyes as she stood. "Wally, you're... nice, but I'm not really sure about dating someone who doesn't take anything seriously."
"I take you seriously!" he interjected, following her as she moved toward the shed. "I just happen to do it with style."
Y/N didn't respond, her mind already shifting back to the delicate balance of plants in her care. Wally watched her for a moment, his usual grin softening into something more sincere. He knew she thought he was just a goofy speedster, but she didn't see how much effort he put into every interaction with her. He wasn't giving up. Not yet.

The mission came suddenly, as most did. Lex Luthor had been spotted in a warehouse on the city's outskirts, accompanied by an army of robotic henchmen. The Justice League assembled quickly, with Y/N and Flash joining Batman, Wonder Woman, and Green Lantern for the operation.
The warehouse was a maze of metal scaffolding and heavy machinery, the air buzzing with the hum of Luthor's mechanized army. Y/N moved with precision, her vines snaking through the corridors to disarm robots and shield her teammates from blasts of energy.
Flash zipped past her, dismantling foes with his usual flair. "Hey, Y/N! Did you see that? Took down three bots in, like, two seconds. Pretty impressive, huh?"
"Focus, Wally," she replied, summoning a wall of ivy to block an incoming laser.
He grinned and dashed off, but his attention never strayed far from her. He kept an eye on her movements, ready to intervene if she needed him.
And then things went sideways.
Luthor himself appeared, piloting a massive, armoured mech armed with high-powered lasers. The machine's red eyes glowed menacingly as it targeted Y/N, who was busy shielding Wonder Woman from a barrage of enemy fire. She didn't see the mech's cannon charging behind her.
"Y/N! Watch out!" Wally shouted, his voice laced with panic.
Without thinking, he pushed his speed to its limit, reaching her just as the laser fired. He grabbed her waist and pulled her away, the heat of the blast grazing his back as they tumbled to the ground. The explosion tore through the greenhouse-like structure Y/N had created, scattering debris everywhere.
When the dust settled, Y/N found herself cradled in Wally's arms, his body shielding her from harm. His usual grin was gone, replaced by a look of genuine concern.
"Are you okay?" he asked, his voice quieter than usual.
"I... I'm fine," she said, her heart pounding from more than just the adrenaline. She stared at him, realizing for the first time just how far he was willing to go for her.
Before she could say more, Batman's voice crackled over the comms. "We've secured the area. Regroup outside."
Wally helped her to her feet, brushing dirt from her uniform with gentle hands. "You sure you're okay? Not even a scratch?"
"I'm fine," she said again, her voice softer this time. "Thanks to you."
Back at the Watchtower, the team debriefed, but Y/N's thoughts were elsewhere. She replayed the moment Wally had saved her, his unwavering focus and the fear in his voice. It was a side of him she hadn't seen before—a side that was hard to dismiss.
After the meeting, she found him in the common area, lounging on the couch with a bowl of popcorn. He looked up as she entered, his usual grin spreading across his face.
"Y/N! Just in time. I was about to start a movie. Want to join?"
She crossed her arms, leaning against the doorframe. "You know, you're not as goofy as I thought."
Wally blinked, momentarily stunned. "Uh... Thanks? I think?"
"I mean it," she said, walking over to sit beside him. "You saved my life today."
"Aw, come on," he said, trying to downplay it. "It's kind of my job."
"No, Wally. You didn't have to do what you did. You could've gotten hurt."
"Well, yeah," he said, scratching the back of his neck. "But I couldn't just let anything happen to you. I'd never forgive myself."
Her cheeks flushed slightly as she looked at him, truly looked at him. There was no teasing in his tone, no trace of the jester she'd always dismissed. This was Wally West—earnest, brave, and undeniably devoted.
"So," he said, a nervous edge creeping into his voice. "This feels like a good time to ask... You, me, dinner? I mean, if you're not too busy saving the world with your green thumb and all."
She hesitated, watching the hopeful flicker in his eyes. And then, to his utter surprise, she smiled.
"Okay," she said.
"Okay, like... okay?" he repeated, unsure if he'd heard her right.
"Yes, Wally. I'll go out with you."
For a moment, he sat frozen, popcorn forgotten in his lap. Then, in a blur of motion, he was on his feet, fists pumping in victory. "Yes! Finally! I mean, uh, cool. Cool, cool, cool. Casual. No big deal."
Y/N laughed, the sound soft and melodic. "You're such a dork."
"Yeah, but I'm your dork now," he said, his grin stretching ear to ear. Before he could stop himself, he leaned down and kissed her, his lips brushing against hers with surprising tenderness.
When they pulled apart, her cheeks were as red as his suit, but she didn't pull away. Instead, she reached up and tangled her fingers in his hair, pulling him back down for another kiss.
