The Order of The Phoenix? The words played on repeat in my head as Remus led the way along a tiny, cramped corridor and into what looked like a dining room mixed with a kitchen. By the looks of it almost everyone from the order was here because all the seats were taken apart from a few empty ones which I assumed were for Remus and his partner.
"What is she doing here?" An elf angrily muttered from the opposite side of the room, his eyes sending me an icy glare.
"Don't you have work to be doing, Kreacher?" A man with dark eyes and curly hair, who I recognized to be Sirius Black asked the elf calmly, raising an eyebrow awaiting it's reply.
"Yes sir" The elf replied, walking as slow as possible towards the door and up the stairs.
"You will have to forgive his rudeness, he doesn't take well to strangers" Sirius apologized turning his head to me and a small smile found its way onto my lips. Perhaps it wasn't so bad being here, but it would have been nice to have been given a choice.
"I am used to it"
For a moment the room went silent and then the screech of a chair moving against the wooden floorboards sounded and a man who dressed like a wanna be gangsta went to move past me but froze when Remus spoke up.
"Perhaps Mundungus, you can show Miss Pevensie up to her room"
"Perhaps, if I wasn't so busy,I would. But I must be off...no offence to you Miss"
"None taken" To be honest this guy didn't really look like someone you wanted to hang around with, so just as I had been about to claim that I would find my own way to my room, Sirius stood and closed the door leading to the hallway, sending a smug look to Mundungus who had been trying to leave through the door and now found himself surrounded by several members of the Order with no escape available.
"You will show Miss Pevensie to her room, if you want to leave that is" The wanna be gangsta simply nodded and sent me a forced smile as Sirius opened the door for us.
"Right this way Miss" I followed after him into the hallway taking one last glance over my shoulders to the dining room, where Remus sent me a reassuring smile.Continuing up another set of stairs we passed Kreacher who was dusting an old statue, at first I thought he was too preoccupied to notice my presence but right at the last minute his head moved in my direction and he sent a nasty look my way.
"Here we are" Mundungus monotonously announced and pushed the door open to reveal what I guessed was my room. Without uttering another word he left, and was down the several flights of stairs and out of the house quicker than I even thought possible.
So this is the new place I call home. I thought to myself, my eyes wandering around the room, taking everything in. The room was dimly lit, with only a few candles for light and the windows were covered by the forest green curtains. Deciding I would need a little more light I went to flick the switch on, only to find the dusty chandelier to not be working, well what was I expecting, the room didn't look like it had be used in years. Taking out my wand I used a spell I had learned at school for housekeeping, and soon the chandelier was sparkling, the bookshelves and antique wardrobe was no longer covered by thick layers of dust and the curtains were pulled back, revealing the starry night outside. The last time I had seen the stars was back at Malfoy Manor with Tom. What was he doing anyway? No you have left him, you cant be thinking about what he's doing! I scolded myself inwardly and took a seat on the edge of the bed.
"Here are your bags" Sirius's strained voice broke me from my thoughts and my head shot over to the doorway where he stood, holding two familiar bags.
"Um I don't remember packing them, I left them at Ma-"
"Malfoy Manor, I know, they were outside on the doorstep all packed and everything"
"So he knows then" I groaned and lay back on the bed as Sirus put my bags on the floor.
"Who knows?"
"To- you know who, he knows I am here"
"Actually it was your friend who we saw walking off down the street. God if you know who knew you were here I think we would have a few problems"
"Penelope?"
"I didn't catch her name, would of liked to though" Sirus grinned looking like a right boy as his thoughts went back to the pretty women he now knew to go by the name of Penelope.
"Penelope...what a beautiful name" I snickered and threw a pillow at him, getting a chuckle in return as he sat down on the floor, his leg criss crossing over the other.
"Your quite the charmer aren't you" He sarcastically commented as I rolled my eyes and threw another pillow his way in reply. We were silent for a moment and so was the house, that was until the door opened and people began to welcome someone called Hermione and Ron.
"I better go greet them" Sirus let out a bit of a whimper as he got up off the floor and limped over to the door.
"Are you alright?"
"Oh Clara...old age is catching up to me...I don't suppose you have any anti ageing potions lying around do you?" I chuckled and shook my head no.
"Well, I tried. Do make yourself at home, you will be here a while" And with that he was gone, after his retreating footsteps could no longer be heard I opened the two bags, finding a note in one of them with Penelope's scruffy handwriting covering the parchment.
"Meet me in the park opposite, at 8 o clock sharp" As a new member of the Order of the Phoenix it wasn't so bad after all. But one question was on my mind, how did Penelope manage to get hold of my bags if I left them at Malfoy Manor?
