Pride and prejudice

My head throbbed and I put my hand to my forehead feeling a cold towel placed on it.Someone flinched beside me and I finally opened my eyes seeing a very battered up Tom sat on a chair beside the bed.

"Tom?"I frowned and he took my hand squeezing it tightly,giving me a small smile.

"What happened?"I muttered sitting up only to have Tom push me back down gently but forcefully enough to stop me doing it again.

"You can't sit up yet you might injure yourself more"I huffed but did as he said and did not attempt to sit back up again.

"What happened to you?"I asked looking at his face which was bruised and cut in several places.

"Its nothing"He replied and I groaned as the nurse came rushing over.

"Ah see is awake I see,how are you feeling Clara?"She came to a stand beside me and I smiled weakly feeling faint.

"Well,my head is throbbing and I feel faint"I replied and she looked as though she knew exactly what to give me,rushing off to the medicine cupboard and coming back with a brown paper bag.

"Take two of these twice a day for a week,no skipping or you will begin to feel faint again."The nurse instructed sternly and I nodded sitting up and taking the bag from her grasp.

"Thank you"She nodded and rushed off to help another student who was moaning about the pain in their leg.

"Arghhh it hurts so much!!!"They grumbled and the nurse sighed in annoyance.

"Honestly Miss Williams will you be quiet your not the only one in pain here!"She muttered attending to someones badly cut up leg.I managed to sit up without assistance but standing up was another matter.I did try though,I just didn't succeed very well managing to fall into Toms awaiting arms so that I didn't fall onto the stone floor at least twice.

"Lets face it Tom I am never going to be able to leave if I can't walk"I said in despair and sat back down on the bed feeling his arms lift me bridal style and carrying me out of the hospital wing.

"You have spent enough time in here"He muttered as he carried me to the slytherin common room where most of the slytherins were lounging around as it was lunch break.

"Clara!"Penelope exclaimed as Tom put me down on the rug but kept a hand on my back to support me.

"Are you alright?"She asked once she had gotten through the crowd of slytherins to us.

"I will be,do you think you help me up the stairs to my room?"I asked her knowing that Tom wouldn't be allowed into the girls dormitories.Penelope nodded and I put an arm around her shoulder slowly walking up the stairs into my room.

"Thanks"I said as she sat me down on the bed and pulled the covers over me.

"That's ok"She smiled at me as I took a breather feeling exhausted.

"What happened to Tom he looks pretty bad?"Penelope frowned in thought for a moment before speaking.

"Well,when Victoria hit you with the hex Tom noticed and stepped in front of you trying to deflect it,he wasn't quick enough though and you ended up hitting the wall and uh he...well-"

"Spit it out!"I raised my voice at her and she looked stunned.

"He got hit as well which is why he has bruises and cuts on his face"Well that was pointless,I thought to myself she hardly went into detail at all but then it was probably for the best Tom wouldn't want his pride being ruined by a little accident now would he?

"Oh and what happened to Victoria?"

"She has been put into isolation,she was originally going to be sent home until OWLS but the teachers decided it best that she stay here"I nodded feeling a little satisfaction that my enemy had gotten some sort of punishment for what she did to me.Whatever she had now would be a lot worse once I was better because boy did I want to get revenge on her.
