A way

Still in a haze from my trance I hardly noticed that I was being tugged to safety,being too busy watching in horror as Victoria tackled the guests along with the other aurors.

"Clara!Clara!Come on!"My head snapped to Penelope who looked as though she was about to cry in fear.Luckily I had taken off my veil and heels a while back to get comfier so was able to pick up my dress and speed walk to inside the house where the defenseless death eaters were now rushing to their rooms to get their wands.It hardly felt real,why did this have to happen?And on my wedding day?The day which was supposed to be the happiest day in my life had turned to the worst in a matter of seconds.

Among the crowd I spotted Tom and Charlus stood side by side taking off their jackets and grabbing their wands to protect themselves,it was then that Tom looked over to me and our eyes met.I couldn't smile sadly or even break eye contact I just felt as though I was watching everything go by and not being part of it.He seemed to move over to where I was in a short amount of time because before I knew it his hands were cupping my face forcing me to look at him and not the panicked death eaters around us.

"Are you alright?"Even now his voice sounded soothing making me feel a little bit better and be brought back to reality.

"Yeah Im fine"I replied putting a hand on my stomach and feeling the baby give a kick.

"And so is this little one!"When I looked back up from my growing bump what I saw made my heart melt.Tom stood with his normally perfect hair which was now ruffled,smiling but not at the bump,at me,dreamily.

"My Lord?"The moment was broken by a death eater coming up behind Tom and distracting him.

"I will be there in a minute,fend them off and by no means let them near the house,give the women and children time to get away"I froze on the spot,what did he mean? I wasn't going anywhere,not without him.

"What?No!"

"You have to..."He spoke softly and wrapped his arms around my waist pulling me close to him,I knew this was just his way to persuade me into going and so tried to not get lost in his eyes.Despite my attempts to wriggle out of his arms his lips pressed to mine and not long afterwards his forehead was resting against mine,his were arms still tightly wrapped around my waist not wanting to let go but eventually he did and took a step back with what looked like tears in his eyes.

"Go,now!"It was a command,there was no room for 'but's' or 'no's' I had no choice.As if sensing my hesitation Penelope took my hand and led me off,but my eyes remained on him,pleading silently but I had lost the wordless fight,he was having none of it,dead set on seeing the women and children safe and once Toms mind was set on something there wasn't much you could do to change it.After that the women and children were led out of a secret passage to the village nearby where we apparated to safety,I didn't know what was going to happen back home but I knew that Tom would find a way to get through this,he always did.
