A wild frenzy of sparks hit the spotless black tiled walls of the Ministry of Magic. Poor Harry was getting hit by bits of debris and Dumbledore was too busy dueling Tom to notice that several nasty looking cuts had arisen on Harry's skin. I inched forward as Tom sent a fireball which morphed into a snake in Dumbledore's direction. To be honest I didn't want either of them to win, if Tom did win this, then it would mean I betrayed my duty as a member of the Order, I didn't know if I could stop him from killing Harry even if I tried, if Dumbledore won the duel it would leave me having to watch as Tom was most likely arrested, with the things he had done I very much doubt he would be given a fair trial.
Feeling the searing hot air come towards me, I quickly edged further into the corridor, only daring to look around the corner once the heat had died down. Dumbledore had managed to deflect the fireball, soon engulfing Tom with water and sending him around the room like a guinea pig in its play ball. Deciding I needed to stop this before it went too far, I ran out of the corridor.
"Stop! Let him go!" And that was all it took for Harry to get up and make for me, breaking Dumbledore's concentration as he used a quick spell to send him flying back to the ground. Due to Albus losing his concentration, it had meant that Tom was now back on the ground and fighting again. Before I knew what was happening I was being pulled towards him as he made a protective shield around us, just before managing to get enough energy to smash all the office windows from above.
"Tom-" I had pleaded, but he only sent me a quick glare and continued to send the shards of glass at Harry and Albus. I could only watch as Harry ducked down while Dumbledore put his wand up, looking as though he expected the glass to hit him any second as Tom's demonic laughs echoed off the walls. However, they stopped when the shards of glass turned into sand, leaving not a single scratch on the pair. Knowing fully that he was no match for Dumbledore, Tom disappeared without another word, he was unable to be seen but the sand moving and making its way towards Harry told me that he had not given up yet.
"Clara, come here" Dumbledore commanded, holding his hand out pleadingly, it only dropped to his side once more when he realized that I wasn't going to move. Thankfully, Harry dropped to the floor breaking the mini stare down me and Dumbledore were having. The boy's eyes glazed over and I slowly moved towards him, so this was Tom's plan, to take over Harry's body and mind. As he groaned in pain I knew his thoughts were being read against his will, his memories being looked through as though they were a photo album.
"Harry...it isn't how you are like, it's how you are not" Dumbledore began to speak to him only for Harry to let out another groan of pain, squirming on the ground trying to rid himself of the pain. I had to admit, seeing Harry in such a state and Dumbledore looking so helpless made me feel sorry for them. His friends footsteps sounded as the emerged from the darkness of the corridor, only catching sight of us all after a couple of seconds.
"Your the weak one, and you'll never know love or friendship, and I feel sorry for you"Letting out one last groan of pain, he relaxed onto the floor, Tom appearing next to him, his dark eyes boring into Harry's blue ones.
"Your a fool Harry Potter, and you will lose...everything" A fireplace behind me sprung to life with green fire, causing me to gasp as the Minister for Magic stepped out with other colleagues, seeming to not notice the fact that Voldemort and several students from Hogwarts were in the room. Fudge stopped, frozen in fear and shock, he had let out a small gasp which echoed around the room, breaking Tom's eye contact with Harry. Sending one last glance at me, Tom left in a swirl of sand, most likely back to the manor.
"He's back!"
