Secrets divulged

The party held by professor Slughorn last night had been mostly boring to the point where you could hardly call it a party and the only eventful thing which happened was when mistletoe had floated above mine and Toms heads jinxed by Professor Slughorn so we could not move until we had kissed which of course neither of us minded but we had to act like we did.I made sure to turn my attention and thoughts back to the class in which everyone was sat in bored silence as we stared looked at the chalk board where professor Merrythought was writing all sorts of things that most of the class already knew about Muggles.

"Now if you want to do well in your exams you shall have to write at least two pages of notes down!"Professor Merrythought turned around fully aware that the class was half asleep.At once everyone began to write down like maniacs things about Muggles me included.

Just as I had wrote the last word the bell went and the class was dismissed.I put all my things away and rushed off eager to get to lunch as I had missed breakfast by having to take Penelope for the third time this week to the hospital wing.I looked up from my feet which seemed the most interesting thing to look at right now when someone put their hands on my by the shoulders stopping me from walking any further.I looked up to see that Penelope stood in front of me looking extremely stressed.

"Don't look so stressed you will get grey hairs by the time you are twenty"I said dryly, picking up one of her hairs for emphasis.

"I need to tell you something now"Penelope said and began dragging me away by the hand from the main route to the great hall where most people were.I groaned as I was dragged away from the sight of food which I so badly wanted to eat.

"Penelope I missed breakfast because of you and the least you can do is let me eat for goodness sake!"I complained and Penelope just shook her head smirking leading me off round the corner before stopping in the dimmed hallway checking that none was around,turning back to face me.

"Why are we here?"I asked frowning while Penelope took deep breaths.

"Because I need to tell you something but you must promise to keep it a secret"Penelope commanded as I looked down at her from my height of 5,9.

"Ok,ok I promise not to tell anyone except..."I thought for a moment as to who I would tell.

"Tom"I said and crossed my arms over my chest showing that I meant business.

"Ok fine you can tell Tom but none else,do you swear?"Penelope replied raising her eyebrows making her eyes look extremely big.

"I pinky swear"I said and held my pinky for to shake.

"Ok So here goes nothing"She said and huffed blowing away a stray lock of her hazel hair.

"On the night of the Yule ball I kind of snuck out to meet up with James because he sent me a note..."Penelope began and I could faintly see where this was going but continued listening even though I felt completely out of control of what I was going to do once she had finished.

"And he told me he was sorry and that he had not known what he was doing...that he only wanted me"

"Go on"I commanded and realized that it was something Tom would say he was really rubbing off on me.

"Well one thing led to another and he kissed me,like proper kissed me"

"In other words snogging"I added for her and she blushed but then paled.

"We had...and then today I found out I was pregnant"Penelope finally finished and to my surprise I just stood glued to the spot with my mouth open.

"Say something"Penelope said after a moment or two of silence.

"T-that's why you have been feeling sick and getting headaches"I said softly barely able to hear myself.

"Surely you have done it with Tom too"Penelope said quickly and I gasped.

"You have haven't you?"She said and smirked while I blushed and cursed under my breath for remembering the last time.

"Yes but that's non of your business and for your information I am not pregnant because we used whats called protection you should try using it sometime!"I snapped annoyed that she had gotten to that side of me what I called my private life and I felt invaded by my own friend.

"Don't worry I am not going to tell anyone...unless it is a life or death situation"Penelope replied and I snorted it was too hard to resist, I could just imagine her at the end of someones wand so close to death after the cruciatus curse being used on her multiple times and the owner of the wand kneeling down beside her moments before she gave away every tiny detail about my private life.

"So what are you going to do about it you wont be able to hide your bump you know when you are 9 months into pregnancy!"I said steering off the subject of me and back onto the subject of her.

"I will just stay in our dorm until I have the baby"Penelope said it as if it was simple and I rolled my eyes.

"Yes just hide in the dorm that we share with about five other girls all who would tell on you in a millisecond if they thought it would give them an advantage in life."I said sarcastically and Penelope groaned.

"Well what do you suggest then?!"Penelope raised her voice and an idea came to mind.

"You can hide in the shreaking shack!"I said pleased with my idea which seemed foolproof.

"What!No way that place is really scary you know I don't like the dark!"Penelope complained as I rolled my eyes at how childish she was.

"Well its either that or you go home and tell your parents,and I don't like to be kept from my food so if you will excuse me"I said and before another word could be said rushed off to the great hall for lunch.
