"Why am I here?!" I all but yelled at the shocked looking Bellatrix, however she managed to regain her composure and let out a laugh that made my ears hurt.
"Wait and see" She replied, all the while her eyes moved back and forth from something behind me, back to me, frowning I turned around and was met with all too familiar dark eyes. Gasping, I took a step back and ended up tripping on the rock, clenching my eyes shut, I braced myself for hitting the ground, only to have a pair of arms wrap around my waist and lift me back up. Hesitantly, I opened my eyes, and once again found myself captivated by the man before me, his eyes were a beautiful black that shone in the light of Bellatrix's wand, he was bald and nose less, with pale skin that showed the veins on top of his head.
"It cannot be...so long it has been and yet you haven't changed one bit. Exactly as I remember you" A crinkle found its way onto my forehead as I looked up at the man, unable to move as though I were to forever be held in his arms. It was almost like I was in some sort of daydream, I recognized this man, he was the one who had helped Tom back during the first wizarding war, and the one who had helped me when I was nearly killed by aurors.
"I know you" I tried to keep my voice above a whisper but failed miserably, thankfully he had managed to hear me, because a small smile graced his rosy pink lips. I couldn't help myself, my hand automatically moved up to them and traced them, they were surprisingly soft. For a moment we were caught in our own little world, just gazing at each other for what felt like eternity, that was until Bellatrix's voice broke in.
"My Lord, should we not return, the others will wish to know our whereabouts" 'My Lord?' the only person I knew who went by that was...Tom. No, when I left him he was completely different. That would mean that the man who had helped us all those years ago was indeed an older version of Tom.
"Oh my god" My eyes went wide and I suddenly felt extremely faint. Pushing away from Tom I jumped into the boat and sat down hoping it would move over to the other side as fast as possible. The only problem was, the boat wasn't moving, in fact, it was sat still, floating on the water but not even moving an inch. When I looked back over to where Tom and Bellatrix stood, Tom had an amused look in his eye while Bellatrix simply shot me a dirty look. A cool breeze went past me, causing my arms to wrap themselves around my body in an attempt to warm up.
"Are we going?" Before long all three of us were sat in the boat and moving across the water towards the other island. As soon as it touched the side I was out and into the outer cave, hearing the waves crash against the rock face with the sea breeze blowing my hair around like crazy was welcoming after the cool, stillness of the cave. After a moment of not hearing the other pair of footsteps behind me, I turned my head over my shoulder, coming dangerously close to Tom who was stood inches away from me.
"Did you steal the locket?"
"What?"
"Do not pretend you do not know what I speak of"
"You mean the Slytherin locket? Why would I steal it from you? What do I have to gain from it?" Tom seemed to only have just realized this too as he went into thought for a moment with a perplexed expression on his face.
"Do you know of anyone could of stolen it then?"
"No, now if you don't mind I am cold. So I shall be off" I muttered, my teeth chattering from the cold air, wet clothes that clung to your skin and cold air was really not a good mixture.
"Who says you are going anywhere? You are coming back with us" For a moment I thought he was joking, that was until the expression on his face did not morph into a smirk, he looked deadly serious as did Bellatrix, with the exception of looking less than amused about the matter. Before anything else was said he grabbed both mine and Bellatrix's hand. Not a moment later we were stood before Malfoy manor, except it looked a lot less welcoming than the last time I had been here, the remaining trees creaked in the wind and the sky was a murky black, with the promise of a storm as the clouds let out a rumble. The once grand double doors creaked open and footsteps sounded causing my eyes to be forced away from the stormy sky to Wormtail, who not at all in a nice way shot me a toothy grin and smugly announced.
"Welcome home"
