Severe consequences

I had my things packed for weeks over the holidays so it was no trouble when it came for the time that we had to go back to Hogwarts.Due to Toms friends being round all the time there had been a few run ins with Malfoy who would cower whenever I came near him,but what his problem was I really didn't know.

"Are you ready?"Tom knocked on the door and poked his head through.He was already dressed in his robes while I was going to get changed with Penelope on the train,we always liked to do each others hair on the first day back.

"Yep"I replied and slung my backpack over my shoulder,taking Toms hand and walking out the front door.We apparated to kings cross station and used the portal to get to nine and three quarters.The first thing I saw was Victoria Clearwater crying her eyes out with her friends soothing her.I looked to Tom who raised his eyebrows,it was too loud for us to talk to one another so he urged me to walk on by putting his hand on my back.Victoria looked up and scowled at me when we passed her but I managed to keep my face passive.

"Oh look who it is,they must have missed you Tommy"I commented as we stepped onto the train where Malfoy,Lestrange,and some other tag along boys were hanging around taking up the whole path.I heard Tom scoff behind me as he walked in the opposite direction to the prefects compartments to put his bags away while I walked straight ahead trying to get to the other compartments and find Penelope.

"Excuse me boys"I said and they all turned around still laughing from one of their stupid jokes.

"Sorry?"A boy who was taller than me with glasses and messy blonde hair stepped forward while the others gawped at him with their eyes wide in fear.

"I said excuse me"I said again and the boy looked round to the others who gave him looks trying to say something without words.

"Come on Matt just let her through"Malfoy stepped forward trying to persuade the boy by pulling him back only to have his hand shrugged off.

"No,you don't think I am going to let this pretty little one get away are you?"Matt replied walking towards me while my breathing hitched.

"I have two things to say to you...Matt,One I really don't like you,and two move it!"I yelled trying to shove past him only to be pulled back and shoved against the wall.

"Oh come on sweetheart just one little kiss!"Matt puckered up and closed his eyes while I struggled in his tight grip.Seconds later he was off of me and on the floor.I struggled to get my bearings until I felt a strong hand pull my wrist.I looked up and saw that it was Tom.

"T-Tom"I stuttered getting my breath back and realizing what was happening when I saw the anger in his eyes.

"What did he do to you!"He exclaimed examining me for any signs of bruises or blood.

"Tom I am fine really stop worrying"I said and took hold of his hands.His eyes went from mine to Matt's who was only just being helped back up by the others.

"You!What did you think you were doing,shes mine Hunter is that understood!You don't lay your filthy hands on her ever again and if you do there will be severe consequences is that understood?!"Tom yelled getting right up into the other boys face,the others looked just as frightened as the boy himself while I on the other hand didn't know what to think.I had never seen this  side of Tom before not even back in the orphanage he had always seemed so calm.

I had asked Tom to just tell the others of how it was,it certainly was much easier than keeping our relationship a secret after all we only had a year left and it also was a bonus for Tom because that way all the other girls in our year would stop bothering him.Matt nodded and looked over to me with his hands shaking.

"I am sorry,please forgive me"Matt looked desperate and I needed to find Penelope.

"Your forgiven just don't do it again or I wont hesitate to leave you with a broken bone!"I hissed and gave Tom a quick kiss for effect,grabbing my bag and walking up the path to find Penelope in one of the compartments with Fran and Charlus.

"Why didn't you reply to any of my letters?!"Penelope yelled at me and I frowned.

"What letters?"

"You mean to say you didn't get any of them,I sent you dozens!"Penelope threw her arms in the air and Charlus ducked still reading his newspaper.

"Look all of you I am no longer at the orphanage-"Before I could say anything else Fran had butted in.

"So you have been adopted!"She exclaimed excitedly and I smiled sadly but shook my head.

"No,but I now live with Tom in his house that his father left for him,we wont be going back to the orphanage ever again"I replied and Penelope gasped hugging me and apologizing for shouting at me while Fran stayed silent.

"Whats wrong Fran?"I asked sitting next to Penelope on the opposite seat.

"I-I still kinda like Tom..."She trailed off at the end and gave me a nasty look.

"But its not like you two are going to last you are complete opposites, you could choose from any of the boys,they all fall at your feet like lost puppies but instead you choose the boy I love with all my heart!"She yelled standing up in a huff and rushing out of the compartment not forgetting to take her bags with her.

"More girl drama what a surprise!"Charlus muttered not even bothering to look up from his newspaper and I elbowed him in the stomach.

"Oh please just because we have more fun than you, your just jealous"I replied and laughed at his facial expression.

"Hey,why didn't you call me, I gave you my number."Charlus looked really hurt and a feeling of guilt overwhelmed me.Penelope took this as a sign to leave and walked out saying that she was going to get some food from the trolley which was further up the train.

"Charlus...your really nice and everything but I just don't really like you in that way,if I did I am sure I would date you but I just don't.I'm sorry"I replied grabbing my bag so that I could change in the toilet.Just as I was about to walk out of the compartment Charlus spoke up.

"Its okay but if you and that Riddle guy ever break up,I am here for you,I will wait"I looked over my shoulder to him and smiled a little before walking out to the toilets.After changing I tried to find Penelope up by the trolley only to find her talking to Fran.I hid before any of the saw me and listened in on there conversation to see if Penelope was calming Fran down.

"Do you think they will break up anytime soon?"Fran's voice was muffled but I could make it out as hers.

"No...they have been dating since 5th year but never really told anyone"Penelope explained and I saw movement out of the corner of my eye coming face to face with my arch enemy Victoria Clearwater.

"Eavesdropping are we?"
