New gamekeeper

I had heard that Hagrid had been found guilty of being the heir of Slytherin and opening the chamber of secrets but I knew this was not true.I rushed over to the courtyard where the whole school stood watching in silence as Headmaster Dippet along with the minister of Magic took Hagrids wand from him and snapped it.Hagrid seemed to flinch at the sound of his wand breaking but made no comment.I felt sorry for him Tom was the heir of Slytherin and now Hagrid was taking the blame.The minister of magic took out a scroll opened it and began to read aloud.

"The ministry of magic has decided that Rubeus Hagrid is on this day expelled from Hogwarts school of Withcraft and Wizardy"I felt tears come to my eyes as Hagrid stood with his head down looking at the floor next to his packed bags.

"Is there anything that you wish to say in your defence?"The minister asked Hagrid who shook his head no sadly.

"WAIT!"Everyone turned to where Professor Dumbledore who stood at the steps in all his glory.

"Hagrid can be made gamekeeper"Professor Dumbledore said and I held my breath as the minister of magic looked from Dumbledore to Hagrid.

"Very well,Hagrid you are now a gamekeeper we will see to it that you are given the correct training"The minister of magic declared and then as quickly as he came he was gone and apparated.Everyone began to leave and I turned to leave but stopped when I heard my name called out.

"Clara!"I spun round to see that Hagrid had been the one who had called my name out.Unfortunately so did half the school.

"Clara you know I wouldn't think of doing such a thing"Hagrid said and rushed over to me taking my hands before the teachers could do anything and kneeling before me with tears streaming down his face.

"Your my last chance Clara"Hagrid said through tears and I tried not to break down myself as I was fully aware that the whole school were watching me.

"I do not know what to think"I said coldly and felt a pang go in my chest because I knew what I was doing was wrong but I would never tell on Tom and betray his trust.I ripped my hands away from his and walked away with the girls gasping as I went past and everyone just seemed to be stopped and I kept walking faster away from the scene as I heard Hagrid calling out to me.

"Clara please!"

"CLARA NO"Those would be the last words that I would ever hear Hagrid utter for years.After the common room door had closed I sat by the fire wiping away some tears but I wiped them away when I heard someone coming in.

"Clara you know it had to be done,they would have closed the school and sent us back there"Tom said emerging from the shadows.It would seem that I did not do a very good job of wiping away my tears because when I looked up at Tom he seemed taken back and I thought I saw a flash of sadness cross his face.

"I love you so I couldn't ever tell on you but really Hagrid of all people? why didn't you choose someone more deserving like Victoria?"I asked my voice breaking a little.

"Hagrid was the one who seemed suspicious"Tom said and I shook my head as more tears fell and I tried to wipe them away with my sleeve.

"Well that's not a good enough excuse Hagrid has only ever been kind to me and this was how I repaid him by abandoning him,your lucky I didn't do the same to you"I said openly letting myself cry before getting up out of the chair and rushing up the stairs to my dorm and slamming the door behind me.
