Chapter 40:
Jessica's POV:

"I love you." I blurted after Nick and I separated from our kiss. As soon as I realized what I said, I looked away, blushing. "I mean-" I started.
"I love you too." Nick said, turning my head so I faced him again. This time he was the one to kiss me.
I was overwhelmed by the passion in the kiss. I felt my heart swell with love as Nick kissed me. I dreaded the moment he stopped the kiss, but we had to catch our breath.
As we relaxed on the blanket, Nick fed me a chocolate covered strawberry.
"This is so romantic." I said, when I swallowed the sweet treat. "Thank you so much for doing this."
"It's my pleasure. Since we've been so busy with rehearsal, we haven't had a lot of alone time."
"I know." I yawned. "I miss spending time with just you."
"Sounds like you're getting tired." Nick said, sounding disappointed.
"No, I'm fine." I laid down and looked up at the stars. "I don't ever want this night to end."
"Me either." Nick said as he laid down next to me. He held my hand in his and I closed my eyes, just focusing on the night sounds and Nick's breathing.
I started to feel even more tired and was almost drifting off to sleep when Nick suddenly sat up.
"What's up?" I asked as I opened my eyes and sat myself up.
"I have something I want to show you." We packed up our dessert and blanket and I followed Nick. It was quite dark in the park but I could see a yellow light ahead. As we got closer, the yellow light turned into a glowing fountain.
"Wow, this is beautiful." I said as Nick stopped in front of the fountain.
"I knew you'd like it." He replied. "When I was younger, I would always come here and throw a penny in the fountain and make a wish. The same wish each time." Nick looked at me. "Do you want to know what that wish was?"
"You can't tell me or else it won't come true." I joked.
"But it already has. I wished that one day I would find the perfect girl and we'd be in love forever."
