Chapter 4:
Jessica's POV:
I was sitting on the couch watching Sherlock when I heard a knock on the door. I jumped off the couch and ran to the door. I looked out the peep hole to see three brunettes. As soon as I opened it, we all shared a tight group hug.
"I missed you guys so much!" I said, finally letting go.
"We missed you too." Lauren said.
"All of us." Jaime added.
"I can't believe it's been nearly four years since I last saw you!" I exclaimed, leading the trio into my apartment.
"I know! I wish you hadn't moved." Meredith said.
"I sort of wished I hadn't moved too." I admitted. "I have made some really great friends here, but I need a better paying job. And I miss all of you guys." I sighed and then Jaime gave me a big hug, followed by Lauren and Mere. "Every time I watch any of the musicals, or see pictures of you guys looking so happy," I felt tears sting my eyes and it was becoming harder to talk. "My heart breaks a little."
"That's awful!" Lauren said.
"We all wish you could have been there with us the entire time, but at least you will get to be with us now." Meredith said.
I took a deep breath. "You're right. I can't change the past, so I should make the best of my preset and future." I said.
Jaime checked the time on her phone. "We should probably get going soon so we don't miss our flight."
We all headed out to my car.
"How did you guys even get to my apartment?" I asked as I drove us to the airport.
"We hitch-hiked." Lauren joked and all of us started laughing.
"We actually just took a bus to the coffee shop across the street then walked over." Jaime explained.
"And you just expected me to drive us to the airport?" I pretended to look shocked as we all laughed.
Once we arrived at the airport, we found our gate and went through security. When we boarded the plane, Lauren, Meredith, and Jaime fought over who got to sit next to me.
"How about we let Jess decide?" Lauren suggested. Everyone looked to me.
"I honestly don't care as long as I get the window seat." I said, sitting down to claim my seat.
"I can't fly unless I'm in a window seat." Meredith said, sitting down in the seat behind mine.
"Drama queen." I muttered under my breath, jokingly rolling my eyes.
"Looks like that jus leaves you and me." Lauren said to Jaime.
"Everyone please take your seats. We will be taking off shortly." I heard a voice say from the speakers.
"Someone sit here," I said pointing to the seat next to me. "And someone sit with Meredith. I honestly don't care. We will all be able to talk anyway." I said, a little annoyed that they were still fighting over me.
Lauren quickly sat next to me and Jaime sulked to the seat next to Meredith. I saw Lauren turn to face Jaime and stick her tongue out at her.
