Chapter 27:
Nick's POV:When we went down the slide, Jessica leaned into me about halfway through. I was surprised, and I really hoped she couldn't hear my heart pounding. If only she knew how much I care for her.
When I returned the sack afterwards, I noticed Jessi staring out at something. I looked around her and saw a couple, holding hands. I really hope she isn't thinking about AJ again. I can't stand to see her upset.
I noticed that the boy was looking at the girl very lovingly. If only Jessi knew that's the way I look at her.
When I came back to stand with Jessica, I asked her what she was staring at, even though I already know. She lied and said she was just wanting to win a stuffed animal.
I took her hand and led her to the game booths. I am going to win her a stuffed animal if its the last thing I do.
"What animal do you want?" I asked Jessi.
"Hmmm..." We walked by each of the booths as she decided. Boy, girls take a long time to make decisions. But for Jessica, I would wait as long as she needs me to.
When she was nearly at the end of all the booths, her eyes lit up, pointing at a booth where you knock down three milk bottles with a baseball.
"I want the giant stuffed minion!" She yelled.
"What do I have to do to get the minion?" I ask the man in charge of the booth.
"Knock down all three bottles. you get two baseballs for two dollars." He said, holding out his hand. I gave him the money and he gave me two balls.
I stepped back, did my best to aim, and I threw the first ball. It went too far to the left.
"That's alright. You've got one more." Jessica said, looking at me hopefully. I looked her in the eyes, gaining more confidence. I took a deep breath, threw the ball, and missed again.
