Chapter 56:
Jessica's POV:

"What's next?" I asked as the members of the band packed up after the concert.
"What do you mean? That's all I had planned." He answered.
"Oh, okay." I must have looked upset because Nick nudged me.
"I'm only kidding! I made reservations for lunch, but the soonest I could get in was 1:30."
I took out my phone and saw it was only 12.
"We've got some time to kill. Why don't we stay here and just hang out and talk?" Nick suggested.
My stomach started churning when Nick said talk. I remembered my conversation with Sami that morning. I tried to ignore my stomach and relax again.
"Are you okay?" Nick asked me, looking worried. I realized I was holding my stomach and moved my arm.
"Yeah, just hungry." I lied. Food was the last thing on my mind right now.
"I'm sorry. I tried to get reservations for earlier but they were booked."
"That's alright. It's not your fault." Nick still looked a little upset and I wanted to cheer him up. "I love you, you know that right?"
"Of course. I love you too." He smiled at me and leaned in for a kiss. Just before our lips met, I reached up and took his Spider Man hat and ran.
"Give that back!" Nick yelled as he chased me.
"Never!" I yelled back, placing the hat on my head. It was a little big, and it fell in front of my face. I pushed it back and looked to Nick. He was gaining on me, so I ran faster.
I was quickly running out of breath, I was never much of an athlete, and I was losing speed. Nick was catching up to me, and I tried to get farther ahead, but I felt an arm around my waist.
"Gotcha!" Nick said, holding me from behind with his arms around my stomach. I didn't have enough energy to fight him, so I just let him hold onto me.
When he realized I wasn't fighting, he let go of me, but took his hat off my head.
"Aww." I pouted.
Instead of putting the hat back on his own head, Nick unsnapped the back and resnapped it in a different spot. I looked at him confused, but then he placed it back on my head.
"It looks good on you." He said.
"Yay!" I smiled. "Thanks."
"Anything for you." He said, and leaned in to kiss me again. This time I let him, and I was overwhelmed by the amount of love in that kiss.
