AN: Hey guys! SO SORRY I haven't posted in a while! I've been really busy with marching band and school. You will not believe what happened a few days ago! I met another Starkid fan...who is a guy! He is hilarious and so sweet! I really hope he is my first boyfriend! I am going to write a story about how we met, and if any thing else happens I'll write about that too! I'd really appreciate it if you would read it! I'll post it either later today, or tomorrow, so look out for that. Thanks for sticking with me even though I haven't posted in like a month! Chapter 12:
Jessica's POV:
After breakfast, I headed to the kitchen to put my bowl in the dishwasher. As I was leaving the kitchen, I saw Britney.
"Hey. How did you sleep last night?" she asked me.
"Great. So much better than I ever did in Nebraska." I admitted. "Especially since I know I am surrounded by all of my great friends."
"That's good. So, AJ made you a scrapbook?" Britney asked.
"Yeah. He's the sweetest guy ever. I'm so glad we're back together." I said.
"Yeah. You two grew up together right?" She asked.
"Yeah. We were inseparable when we were younger."
"I can imagine. You two are so close even now, I can only imagine how close you were growing up." Britney said with a laugh.
"Hey, it's such a beautiful day. Do you want to go out and sit on the porch?" I asked her. She agreed and we left the kitchen.
As we walked into the living room right outside the kitchen, I saw Brolden and Mere sitting on the couch whispering. I made a face like I was gagging as we passed. Britney saw and as soon as we closed the door, we both burst out laughing.
When we finally had calmed down and caught our breath, I said "They totally love each other."
"Yeah. They act like we don't see the way they look at each other. How could anyone look at someone like that and not love them?" Britney agreed.
"You can't." I said.
Just then, I heard someone calling Britney's name. Tyler appeared around the corner of the house.
"Hey Britney, could you come help me with something?" He asked.
"Yeah sure." she said following him back around the house. I sat in silence for a while, just listening to the birds sing.
As I was watching a couple of squirrels chase each other, I heard the front door open. I looked up and saw it was AJ.
"Hey." I said, smiling, as he sat down.
"Hey." We began talking about Nebraska and the friends I've made there, and a possible boyfriend.
After a moment of silence, AJ spoke again.
"So...uh...is there anyone...here...that you...like?" He asked me.
My heart started pounding. Was this his way of telling me he likes me? Why would he be wondering about a boyfriend if he didn't like me?
"Maybe..." I said, smiling.
"Who is it?" He asked. I didn't answer. How was I supposed to answer?
We just stared at each other for a moment, not talking, just sitting in silence. AJ gave me a look as if he were studying my face.
Without realizing it at first, I move forward a fraction. AJ does the same. We go back and forth like this until we are only inches apart. I notice AJ close his eyes, and I do the same.
