Chapter 16:
Jessica's POV:When we got back to the Manor, we showed Robert, Alex, and Rachael their rooms. Since Vivian, Hailey, and Sami were staying in my room, Alex and Rachael are staying with Jaime. Robert will be staying in AJ's room.
We gave the newbies a small tour of StarKid Manor, then we all met in the living room.
"We're going to do a read through, so you can get familiar with your characters." Matt said, handing out scripts.
"What about auditions?" Rachael asked, looking at her script with wide eyes.
"We already know how most of you act, either because we've seen it, or someone we know has seen it. Robert was the only one we had no clue about, so he auditioned through Skype." Brolden explained.
We read trough the script, skipping over the songs. AJ and Kaley had not finished writing the music. Brian explained to us what each song was about when we got there.
As we each continued reading out parts, we played around with different voices. Joe found the perfect voices for his characters! He's always amazing with voices.
When we got to the final scene, I was almost in tears. The musical was perfect! And the ending is so sweet! I can't wait to start rehearsals!
-----
I can't wait for rehearsals to be over! I was so tired, hungry, and thirsty. It was only our first rehearsal, and I couldn't wait for it to be over.
We started at around 7 this morning and now it's 12. Alex, Rachael, Robert and I aren't used to this long rehearsal schedule, so we were complaining of hunger. Brolden tried to ignore us, but we must have annoyed him because he finally let us leave for lunch.
"Hey Jessica." Rachael called to me as I began heading out the door. "Alex, Robert and I are going to get some pizza. Do you want to come with?"
"Yeah sure!" I said.
We all got in my car (none of the newbies had a car in Chicago) and we went to Valentino's. we got one large pizza and found a table.
"So, how do you like being in your first StarKid show?" I asked them.
"It's a lot of hard work, but it's fun." Alex said.
"Yeah. All the work will be worth it in the end." Rachael added.
"I just can't believe how lucky I am." Robert said. "I used to just be a fan, and now I'm in a StarKid show."
"You're living every fan's dream." I said. "Not every fan can become a part of Team StarKid. You were just lucky enough to be the one fan who does, without being friends with anyone in the group before."
"It wasn't just luck." Rachael said. "It was talent."
"The Wizard Duel song you wrote is amazing!" Alex exclaimed. I nodded in agreement.
"And you're a really good actor." I said. "When we were rehearsing, you did really good at hiding your accent."
"Thanks." Robert said, blushing a little.
