(I literally have an exam I need to study for, but you can see where my priorities are. For once, I have no tea. I've ghosted every man I know. I work all morning and have class all afternoon, and I come home in the evening to do more work from my laptop and watch Shameless until I fall asleep. For once, life has been pretty chill. Kinda makes me want to do something dumb and reckless for the plot, but ugh. What's the point? Haven't the past two years been reckless enough? Well, I gotta be up at 5:00 to make myself breakfast and haul my ass back to my desk. I will try to make writing a part of my daily routine, but my brain has been running on fumes lately)

Till I post again,

XOXO

Mako's apartment

"Your ambulance is on the way," you huffed frustratedly at Mudo, who was still lying on the floor clutching the bullethole you pierced into his chest, "Should be a few minutes,"
"Great," Mudo wheezed, "You better split, where there's an ambulance, there's always police,"
"And? Do you plan on telling them I shot you?"
"Hmph. I wasn't," Mudo grinned,
"Good. Because I think you're forgetting that you broke in here and threatened me with a switchblade–
"I was under orders dollface," Mudo sighed with a smile, "Viper warned me you don't come quietly,"
"Yeah? Considering how you look right now, he should've warned you to stay away from me," you hissed back,
"You and I both know he can't do that," Mudo reminded you, "When he talks about you, he gets this...look in his eye. I've never seen it before, and I've known the man twenty years," he rambled fondly, "All I know is Viper spares no expense when it comes to you. Hell, he shot Shah without a second thought when he heard what he did to you,"
"Shah was just– a-acting crazy. It's nothing new," you scoffed,
"Crazy?" Mudo questioned in disbelief, "I've seen crazy. You spend as many years behind bars as I have, and you'll see a few new kinds of crazy. But Shah? That's a whole new level,"
"Did someone call for an ambulance!?" a young man shouted from the bottom of the stairs,
"Up here," you answered flatly, hiding Mako's gun behind the couch pillow before the men arrived,
"Oh. Whew. You're not dead. Thank goodness," the paramedic breathed in relief, "The rookie hasn't seen a corpse yet,"
"Ugh. I wouldn't have called an ambulance if he was a corpse," you scoffed in annoyance, "Just help me get him to a hospital,"
"Oh, you're coming with dollface?" Mudo asked as he was strapped to a gurney and carried out the door,
"Yes, I have questions," you hissed quietly,
"About?" Mudo questioned curiously,
"My brother,"
"Ahh. My least favorite subject,"
"Does it look like I care what he is to you? I need details, and since you'll have nothing but time laying in a hospital bed, you're going to tell me everything," you snapped, "Got that?"
"Hmph. Yes, ma'am,"

[Upper Ring] - Ucheto's

"Oh god. He's coming over here," 93 panicked beneath his breath when Hatir stood and locked eyes with their table, "Bow to him,"
"No," Shah scoffed,
"Shah–
"He's not a king 93. And even if he was one, I still wouldn't–
"Good evening," Hatir smiled, bowing lightly before taking Kuvira's hand, "I don't mean to intrude, but I would've been completely remiss not to introduce myself to Rohai's...newest recruit," he grinned slyly, kissing Kuvira's hand ever so gently, "It is an honor to welcome you to the Upper Ring, Great...Uniter,"
"Okay, that's enough–
"Shah!" 93 scolded, pushing him back down in his chair when he stood,
"It's Kuvira. Kuvira of Zaofu," she corrected Hatir pointedly,
"Hmph. Zaofu," Hatir chuckled, "Last I checked, that hippie country was reduced to nothing but a junkyard. Serves it right. Metalbenders belong here. Inside the walls, where they can be safe,"
"Safe!? Zaofu was the safest kingdom in the world," Kuvira hissed,
"That is...until you got a hold of it, isn't it?" Hatir taunted, studying the anger clenched in Kuvira's jaw. He could tell she wanted to punch him. Punch him hard to send him through a wall, but Hatir held his cool, as did Kuvira, who sat silently, reminding herself over and over again of Rohai's warning:

Please, you're dining in the Upper Ring. You have to look the part.
Oh, and while you're there, try not to draw too much attention to yourselves.

Hatir can be quite...strict.
