Chapter 42: Close To Dead

(Uhhh. Where do I even begin? Well, I may or may not have kissed my coworker again. Twice.😶 And just when I was getting over him for the thousandth time he randomly planned a pool party at his parent's place. So I met them again. The pickle festival and the baseball game were fun, he held my cheese fries for me while I ate them and we held hands all throughout the city while we walked back to his car. So that sort of had me a little delulu. Oh and damn near every time he drops me off at home he stays till 2-3 in the morning while we cuddle and watch movies. He's planning a camping trip in the fall and all I want to do is quit my job so I never have to see him again. I can't do this back and forth anymore. So, when August hits I'm gonna stay so focused on work and going back to school that I lose all feelings for him. 

But there's more:

Another guy I sleep with from time to time (ugh. Don't judge me, it's strictly transactional, but I've been trying to cut this off for weeks) called me at 2:00 in the morning the other day, drunk out of his mind while he was on vacation with his friends and poured his heart out. I've been mad at him for weeks but instead of cussing him out per usual I was straight-up ghosting him and he caught on and told me that he'll do whatever he has to to make me not mad. 🙄

My ex practically comes over my house everyday now that he has a new car and I'm lowkey sick of it because he's constantly asking where I am. At least he buys me things and takes my trash out.

I got followed twice by two different guys in their cars. One circled the block after speeding past me and then drove down a one-way street, pulled over, and got out of the car to ask for my number. Both were ugly. 

And a high school friend of mine wants me to be his so bad that he doesn't care if there are other guys in the picture. Oh, and I might grab lunch with that grad student I slept with a while back. 

At this point, I'd pay to be left alone. Either way, sorry for going MIA again. Hope to update my Zuko series soon. Enjoy Mako for now and pray for me😭)

"Would you stop feeding me?" Shah chuckled at Kuvira sitting next to him on the bed with another forkful of his third spinach omelet, "I'm full. I swear,"
"You need to eat," Kuvira reminded him, "And then rest,"
"I rested enough in those crystals,"
"Resting and suffocating are not the same thing,"
"Well it sure felt like it considering I was thinking about you both of those times," Shah sighed as he rolled out of bed,
"You shouldn't be standing either,"
"Thanks mom," Shah teased before stealing a quick kiss, "Anything else? You wanna hold it for me while I go to the bathroom?"
"Ugh. You're disgusting, get out of my sight," Kuvira scoffed, shoving Shah back when he tried to steal another kiss,
"Hmph. Love you too," he grinned before walking away, "Is this going to be a new thing of yours?" he called from the bathroom,
"Ugh. Pee first. Then talk," Kuvira groaned as she followed him and waited outside the door with her arms crossed,
"Aww. But I thought you were going to hold it for me," Shah teased again,
"Don't make me slap you,"
"Fine. Guess I'll have to settle for you sitting on it later instead," he winked before washing his hands, "But seriously is this going to be a new thing?" he questioned again, pulling Kuvira into his arms by her waist,
"Is what going to be a new thing?" she asked flatly, ignoring the sweet kisses Shah placed down her neck,
"You being so nice. So...loving and caring," he cooed, "Or is this just because Rohai almost killed me?"
"Hmph. I cared enough to save your life, so why does it matter if I'm actually nice to you?"
"Because it's not you," Shah smirked as he gripped her chin, "Now I can see this being a phase but there's no way you can keep this up,"
"Ugh. I can so," Kuvira scoffed when he let go and made his way to the bed, "I-I like you, don't I?"
"Maybe," Shah shrugged from his pillow, "Hard to tell when you're not yelling or cursing my entire existence,"
"I only yell because you have the tendency to be a complete pain in my ass,"
"Hmph. Better get used to it princess," Shah chuckled, "You're stuck with me now,"
