Mako's apartment

"How the hell did you get him here?" you asked, swiping a sip of Mako's beer,
"He called me," Mako sighed, "Or, rather, held up Lito's and staged a hostage situation to get me there,"
"Hmm. And the fact that you didn't see it coming shows you're not as good a detective as you think you are," Shah teased, stealing Mako's beer from right next to you,
"Anyway," Mako smirked, "He's here now. And not a complete threat,"
"He never was. He was just—acting crazy,"
"Hmph. Crazy?" Shah chuckled in disbelief, rummaging through the cabinets for any snack he could find,
"Yes, crazy. It's how you landed in prison twenty times,"
"Twenty-two," Shah corrected you,
"Ugh. He's proud of that?" Jay scoffed with half his focus on his chess pieces,
"Very," you sighed with a grin,
"Hm. Stitches," Shah squinted, inspecting your arm gently, "Interesting,"
"Viper," you breathed, hiding your bandages under your short sleeve,
"Knife?" Shah asked,
"Gun," Mako answered sourly, sipping his beer quickly,
"Could you not? You'll get him all pissed again," you warned Shah,
"He should be pissed," Shah snapped softly, "And Viper should be broken in eight different ways,"
"He will be," Mako nodded with his jaw clenched,
"Ugh. Would you two stop?" you pleaded, tugging Mako by the arm to pull him close, "It was part of some—stupid plan to get a lawyer off his back,"
"Plan?" all the men asked, even 93, who was far too focused on the maps hanging in Mako's hallway,
"Geez. Yes," you snapped at all of them,
"Details," Shah sighed, setting his beer on the counter, "Now,"
"Mako," you protested,
"I'm with Shah on this one,"
"Ugh! Do you plan on interrogating me?" you blinked,
"No,"
"Yes," Shah answered over Mako, "I am. Plan. Now,"
"Shah—
"Don't Shah me," Shah snapped at Mako, "What lawyer and what plan?"

[Crystal Catacombs] - Kuvira's Room

Kyoshi's Journal

A warrior is born from all different origins, elements, parents who loved or abandoned them greatly. But a warrior on my island is two things: precise and feared by all. That is...until I trained my most precious creation.

The Dai Li.

Warriors themselves, but possessing a third quality unlike the rest.

Silent. Completely.

"Captain," one of Rohai's men interrupted, stepping through a slim hole in the wall from his bending,
"I thought I said no interruptions," Kuvira hissed, shutting Kyoshi's book quickly,
"Apologies. I—I only came to relay instructions," the agent bowed, "Courtesy of Rohai,"
"Instructions?" she questioned, "Instructions for what?"
"Your release," the agent nodded, "72 hours are yours. Outside the Walls,"
"What happened to six months of nonstop drills and study?"
"Let's just say Rohai is...impressed with your progress so far, and has...decided to reward that,"
"And your opinion?" Kuvira asked sternly, "Considering I threatened to kill you today,"
"My opinion of you matters none. You are our Captain. Even in training,"

Mako's apartment

"Ugh. Do they all have to be staring at me?" you scoffed, hopping off the counter,
"Jay," Mako pointed, waiting patiently for Jay to turn around before following you to the stairs,
"Baldly, Con man," Shah ordered the others, who reluctantly followed his word,
"Alright. What all did Viper say?" Mako asked gently,
"He...He force-fed me scotch so some lawyer could hit me with his car and rush me to the hospital,"
"What!?" Jay blinked in disbelief,"
"Turn around," you snapped,
"Turning. I'm turning," Jay sighed,
"What was in the car?" Shah asked calmly,
"How did you know—
"Because I know a diversion when I hear one," Shah answered,
"Warrants," you finally answered, "He didn't shoot me until right before. He needed the lawyer to believe that I was drunk and injured so I could lift the warrants from his briefcase while he rushed me to the hospital,"
"Wow. You really did work for him," Mako blurted softly,
"Yeah. And up until right now, I did not want to be reminded of it," you scoffed before marching up the stairs,
"Nice one, Dipshit," Shah chuckled, "She's gone stonewall,"
"It's nothing new," Mako inhaled sharply, "I'll apologize later. We need a plan. Now,"
