[Downtown, Republic City] - outside Kwong's restaurant

"Please don't get blood in my car I just had these seats steamed," the lawyer begged after helping you into the backseat and stepping on the gas,
"Oh I'm sorry, I'll just try to bleed less than," you snapped back at him, "Not like you didn't almost run me over–
"Hey! You flew out of nowhere! I'm surprised I even had time to stop and help. Which you should be thanking me for anyway," he reminded you sharply,
"Thank you," you winced frustratedly, "For being the first idiot to stop their car,"
"Ugh. Idiot!? You're the one playing in the street and I'm the idiot? D-Do you even know who I am? Or what I do for a living?"
"Hmm. Based on that cheap watch and ugly suit I'd say some type of lawyer, and not the important kind," you scoffed, discretely eyeing the briefcase that was tucked beneath the passenger seat,
"Cheap!? Ugly!?" the man repeated in disgust, racing through another yellow light,
"Do you also have a hearing problem?" you asked, quietly unlatching the briefcase with your good arm and removing the papers Viper so desperately needed,
"Oh, my god. T-That's it. I'm getting you to the hospital and then after that, I am walking away,"
"Hmph. Good to know,"

"Siros," Viper called into his phone after dialing quickly,
"Ugh. What do you want now Uncle Viper?" Siros sighed deeply as he prepped needles for his next round of patients, "We're very busy tonight, and I have six screaming kids about to get flu shots,"
"And I have a patient on her way to you. Slight gunshot wound to the arm,"
"Slight?" Siros questioned skeptically,
"Shouldn't be no more than a few stitches,"
"Then send her to the emergency room,"
"Yeah. About that. I need you to take care of her,"
"Why me?"
"Because I need someone to keep an eye on her so she doesn't run off again,"
"Is this the girl from earlier? Uri something?"
"That's the one," Viper smirked slyly,
"That still doesn't answer why I need to watch her. I'm sure one of the nurses will have her out in an hour,"
"Oh, I plan to discharge her myself in about 25 minutes," Viper grinned while checking his watch, "Just tell me what room you're going to put her in,"
"Ugh. Fine," Siros breathed in annoyance, "I have a free slot in E6. 10th floor. Be on time,"
"Hmph. Not a problem,"

[The Docks] - Shin's house

"Damn it. I just knew she left a bruise," he sighed, studying the dark splotch on his abdomen in the mirror after wrapping a towel around his waist, "I don't care what Viper says," he breathed in annoyance when he left the bathroom and made his way down the stairs, "That is the last time I get within striking distance of her. She's insane–
"I know," Mako answered flatly from the kitchen table when Shin flicked on the light, "But unfortunately for you, you're in striking distance of me now. And you're already well aware of how insane I can be," he hissed as he stood to his feet,
"Wow. You really are a detective," Shin smirked slyly,
"Sit," Mako ordered,
"Can we at least do this when I have on some pants?"
"I said. Sit," Mako nodded, waiting patiently for Shin to follow his orders,
"Hmph. As you wish,"

[Lake Laogai] - Crystal Catacombs

"You can call your goons off now," Shah snapped at Rohai, taking the seat between him and Kuvira, "And maybe once they're gone, you can tell us exactly why we're here. Nobody awards trespassers. And the longer we sit here, the more it makes me want to stick a fork in your neck and watch you bleed out–
"Shah–
"I mean it," he hissed, cutting Kuvira off without taking his gaze from Rohai's smug grin, "You're working an angle and I want to know what,"
"Hmm. I wouldn't necessarily call it an angle," Rohai smirked lightly after waving his agents away, "More so...a proposition,"
"A proposition?" Shah repeated skeptically, "That just sounds like an angle with a fancy bow around it. Either way, I want to know what it is. So, now that we've finished dinner, what exactly are you proposing?"
"How long did they have you that cell?" Rohai asked Kuvira curiously, peering over Shah's shoulder, ignoring him completely,
"Six years," Kuvira breathed,
"Right. And do you have any intentions of going back?"
"What?–
"To Republic City that is. I need to know if you have any lasting ties there that would hinder your decision to join our ranks,"
"Your...ranks?" Kuvira questioned, quickly rising to her feet, "You mean–y-you captured us to recruit me to the Dai Li?"
"Precisely," Rohai nodded,
