(Well...my coworker and I made up😶😶😶. He apologized for leading me on for two years, sending constant mixed signals, breaking my heart multiple times, and just being an overall asshat. We're still friends, and that's all we'll ever be, and I'm finally fine with it. Strangely he somehow became one of my best friends over that two years and I honestly missed him during our little spat. We hung out to watch the Steeler game last night and it was genuinely a nice time. I have some dates lined up, but I should just follow my own advice when me and my ex broke up 4 years ago and stay single for 7 years. It's hard for me to do because I do so much for others, and just this ONE time wanted someone to want to take care of me. Sigh. Well. You live, and you learn, and it is what it is. I have three weeks until I'm off of work for a month so I am going to look forward to that and the new year 😌😌😌. Hopefully, 2025 will be better than whatever the hell this was lmaoooo)
Love you lots

"C'mon," Shah called to 93 to follow him underground back inside the Catacombs,
"Where are we headed?" 93 asked curiously,
"The infirmary," Shah answered flatly, "Baldy may be injured, but I still don't trust him around her,"
"But Captain Kuvira ordered us not to follow her," 93 reminded him,
"Hmph. Captain? Already?" Shah questioned curiously, "Don't you and your other cult members have to have some kind of vote before you call her that?"
"Well, Rohai plans to give her his portion of the Middle Ring after her training. That being said, she is our Captain,"
"Hmph. Well, your Captain also ordered me not to touch her when we first met," Shah chuckled, "Didn't stop me from kissing her and definitely didn't stop her from using my body to her advantage,"
"I heard," 93 nodded,
"Oh? Caught a glimpse of the show, huh?"
"No, I uhh. Only heard," 93 admitted sheepishly, "We aren't permitted to keep watch when things get..."
"X-rated?" Shah smirked slyly,
"I was going to say amorous," 93 breathed,
"But you are permitted to listen," Shah sighed with a grin,
"Correct,"
"Level with me 93. How long have you been listening?" Shah questioned,
"Since you stepped foot in the Catacombs,"
"Stepped? I think you mean captured against our will," Shah corrected him,
"We had orders to–
"Right. And since you're no stranger to defying said orders. Tonight, I need a favor. Let me be alone with her," Shah pleaded, "No escort. No listening. No hiding behind walls or in the ceiling–
"I can't grant that," 93 informed him quickly,"
You'll find a way,"
"No. Seriously," 93 stressed, catching Shah by the shoulder before he could walk ahead, "I can't grant that," he repeated, "You're planning on dining in the Upper Ring. Without an escort, you will be followed. If not by us, then Hatir's men,"
"Hatir huh? Something tells me he's not as free-thinking as Rohai," Shah scoffed,
"The complete opposite. There's a reason he's in charge of the Upper Ring,"
"Fine. But if you can find a way. I want to be alone with her," Shah sighed defeatedly, "I haven't told her yet, but...I-I don't know how long it's going to take for me to leave my old life,"
"Wait a minute. Leave? I thought you were turning yourself in," 93 questioned,
"Hmph. You believed that?" Shah chuckled before walking ahead, "Good. Seems like she did too,"
"You were lying?"
"Not lying. Stalling. I-I don't want her to get her hopes up if she thinks I'm coming back in a week. It may take months, maybe even a year or two before I'm free and clear,"
"Why that long? What do you plan on doing?" 93 asked curiously, studying the evil grin that crossed Shah's lips,
"Hmph. I plan on taking down a gang,"
[Republic City] - Mako's apartment
You ate breakfast in silence– with Mako watching you like a hawk. It was typical of him to do so, but usually, he was far more talkative. Pointing out every little thing he noticed about you that would've taken a million years for you to notice even if you had a mirror sitting across from you. It was obvious that something else was on his mind, but he was too busy staring. Almost like he was still trying to figure you out,
"You're quiet," you finally said after chugging the rest of your tea,
"Am I?" Mako answered flatly as he sipped his coffee before sliding his cup over to you,
"Yeah. Usually you never shut up. Actually, I don't think I've ever been able to get you to shut up since we've met. Everything okay?"
"You tell me," Mako breathed, his jaw clenched in frustration, "You were having some...pretty crazy dreams last night,"
"Oh, was I talking again? Ugh. Sorry if I woke you up I–
"Was dreaming about Viper?" Mako asked pointedly,
"I...I-I didn't know I said his name," you admitted sheepishly,
"You said a lot more than that," Mako sighed frustratedly before he stood, put his plate in the sink, and began washing dishes to distract himself from how angry he truly was,
"Like?" you asked as you stood and rested your hand on his back,
"Don't," Mako ordered you softly, putting as much distance as he could between the two of you,
"Don't!?" you repeated in disbelief, "Are you...pissed at me for dreaming about him!?"
"Don't yell. You're going to wake Jay," Mako replied sternly,
"Don't yell!? I'm going to wake Jay!?" you shouted,
"Mmph. Somebody called?" Jay groaned tiredly from the couch with crumbs all over himself,
"Why are you really mad at me!?" you barked at Mako,
"Mad? Mad is an understatement. I'm furious with you,"
"Care to fill me in!?"
"I don't know. You didn't care enough to fill me in about Viper letting you go. What was it he said to you when he shoved you out of his car into the street while you were having a goddamn panic attack!?" Mako roared back at you,
"He!–
You were tongue-tied. Completely floored by the fact that Mako found out about everything before you could even think about telling him. You didn't know whether to cry or scream. Instead you marched into his bedroom and slammed the door before locking it, vowing to yourself that you were never coming out,
"Woah. What the hell did I miss?" Jay asked Mako,
"Nothing," Mako hissed, marching toward his bedroom door and jiggling the handle, "Open the door," he ordered you,
"No. Go away!"
"I'm done yelling. I swear," Mako promised,
"I said go away!" you shouted, throwing one of Mako's shoes at the door,
"I'm not going anywhere! Now open this door, or I'll break it off the hinges!"
"Mako," Jay interjected, springing from the couch and pulling him away, "You're scaring her,"
"Scaring her!? She's been keeping secrets this entire time when all I've been trying to do is!–
"Listen to me. No matter what she's done, this is not the way to get answers out of her. Now, go take a walk,"
"But Viper–
"Go take a walk!" Jay ordered sharply,
"Ugh. You've got to be kidding me!" Mako hissed before marching toward the front door, "Fine!"
"He's gone," Jay knocked softly on Mako's bedroom door when he heard him finally march down the stairs in the hall, "Now will you open the door?" he asked sweetly,
"Is he really gone?" you sniffled, quickly wiping your tears away before unlocking the door,
"Yeah. He's gone," Jay nodded, completely caught off guard when you rushed into his arms and cried even harder,
"Oh Jay, he's so fucking mad at me,"
"For now. But he'll get over it," Jay reassured you as he carried you to the couch, "Now...what happened?
