"You're insatiable," Kuvira heaved while Shah placed a trail of kisses down her stomach and smirked up at her from between her legs,
"You tapping out?" Shah chuckled, kissing the insides of her thighs ever so sweetly just to feel her shudder,
"You're not going to stop regardless, so why ask me that?" Kuvira hissed back at him,
"I'll stop," Shah cooed, bracing himself before he slipped back inside of her anyway, "Right when you admit how unfair that car ride was,"
"Y'know this is not how relationships work," Kuvira gasped, her nails clawing into his back, "You can't win everything,"
"Just this, huh?" Shah seethed, sinking even deeper despite how hard her hips were fighting him off. She had cum five times since they got back to the Catacombs and Shah was nowhere near done after their dinner was so rudely interrupted by Hatir,
"Shit! Shah," Kuvira panted, "Is this all you want to do tonight? Our last night together?"
"Mmph. You got something else in mind?" Shah smirked, watching as she squirmed around his hardness,
"Fuck! We could've– talked. Got to know each other more,"
"Mmmmm. What do you want to know, Doll?"
"Ahh! I-I don't know. Anything," Kuvira pleaded, blurting out the first thing that came to her mind, "What's your middle name?"
"Hmph. That's what you wanna know?" Shah questioned, raising an eyebrow while he slowed the rhythm of his hips, "Out of everything?"
"Well, we don't exactly have time to sift through the bad stuff,"
"Fair enough," Shah chuckled, "It's Eugene. Named after my uncle," he sighed with a smile before ramming himself to the hilt, catching Kuvira completely off guard,
"Fuck!–
"Anything else?" he asked slyly, "Wanna hear about the judge I kidnapped?"
"You kidnapped a judge?"
"Only for a few hours. Jury ruled it a misdemeanor,"
"God, you're crazy," Kuvira laughed, pulling him for a long kiss until Shah broke away breathlessly and whispered into her neck,
"Yeah? Guess I can add being crazy for you to the list,"

[Republic City] - Mako's apartment

You fell asleep before the rest of the men, who were still out on the balcony, swirling their drinks with glassy eyes. Mako had offered to carry you upstairs when he noticed how tired you looked from the few drinks you had managed to put away, but you insisted on resting on the couch, listening to the sound of Mako's voice a few feet away,

"How many times are you gonna check on her?" Mudo questioned when Mako's eyes landed on you sleeping peacefully for the fourth time in five minutes, "She's fine,"
"They had a fight this morning, so he's making up for it," Jay teased after throwing another steak on the grill,
"Oh, so that's why you broke my nose," Mudo chuckled in between sips,
"I broke your nose because you threatened her with a knife and tried to play dumb," Mako corrected him sharply, "And I'm sorry, when is it a crime to check on my girlfriend?" he asked frustratedly, "She's been kidnapped twice now and I'm not trying to make a habit of it,"
"She's five feet from you and we're three stories in the air," Jay pointed, "Unless Viper magically grows wings, gets past us and rips her from that couch, she's not going anywhere,"
"Viper, no, but it doesn't mean Shah won't try,"
"Please," Jay scoffed, "He's not that great at flying even if he does manage to get better," he reminded Mako, "Now, you said we were going to have a relaxing night, and for once, she's safe and sound. Enjoy it,"
"That is...until you decide differently, huh?" Mako huffed at Mudo,
"Hmph. That one there? I wouldn't dare cross her again," Mudo grinned, "As much as I can't stand her brother, he made her tough as nails,"
"Some of us might say a little too tough," Jay laughed, "One thing's for certain. She learned everything from Shah and nothing from her dad,"
"W-What was he like?" Mako asked curiously as he poured himself another drink and took a seat next to the grill,
"Clumsy. Drunk. Argumentative," Jay listed flatly, "Wasn't the least bit worried that Shah was coming to kill him,"
"Figures,"
"Tenzin and I found him passed out on the floor in front of the TV, with his front door wide open," Jay chuckled in utter disbelief, "Anyone could've broken in,"
"Did he even ask about her?" Mako questioned,
"Not at all," Jay answered, "He just started listing off Shah's crimes like salad ingredients. Say, did you know he kidnapped a judge?"
"A judge?"
"Technically, it was a hostage situation, but since he released him in under a two-hour window, the jury went easy on him,"
"Hmph. Pretty standard for someone of his character," Mudo nodded after refilling his glass,
"You and Shah were locked up together," Mako remembered, "What was he like in there?"
"One thing I learned about Shah in there is that prison bars don't matter. He's the same inside and out," Mudo smirked slyly, "Course he doesn't like me very much,"
"Why? What'd you do?" Jay asked,
"Hey, did it ever occur to anyone that maybe he did something to me?"
"Considering you're a known con man and were sent away for killing two men? No,"
"Two men?" Jay questioned,
"Allegedly,"
"Ugh. It was far from alleged, you were sentenced for twenty years," Mako scoffed,
"Okay. Fair enough. I owe him money," Mudo replied quickly,
"How much money?" Jay asked as he flipped his steak,
"Ninety,"
"Thousand!?"
"Behind bars we'd say ninety large, but yes, thousand,"
"You were in prison," Jay said in shock, "How in the hell do you owe someone ninety thousand dollars!?"
"I told you he's a con man," Mako chuckled lightly,
"For your information, I wasn't running a game. This was sure-fire plan until Shah lost his temper and put one of my men in the hospital,"
"Hmph. And knowing you, you definitely didn't let that slide," Mako teased,
"You're damn right. I had that bastard sent to the hole first chance I got," Mudo leaned back smugly, "But now? I owe him more money, probably an extra ten large for how long he spent down there,"
"How long was he in for?" Mako asked curiously,
"Four months," Mudo sighed,
"In solitary confinement!?" Jay gasped, choking on his last sip, "And he left you alive?"
"He had no choice,"
"Damn. No wonder he hates you,"
"Hey, I'm gonna pay him back," Mudo fibbed,
"With what? Another con?" Mako laughed,
"If not that, I'm sure Viper has a few million stashed around the city somewhere,"
"That's your plan?" Jay blinked, "A goddamn treasure hunt?"
"It's not a treasure hunt if you know the money is there," Mudo argued with a grin, "It's just– busting a few heads to secure its location," he chuckled, "Help me find it, and I'll give you half of what I owe Shah,"
"Hmph. You're talking to the wrong cop, Mudo," Mako smirked, "I had to convince Jay to take a bottle of liquor the Chief swiped from the evidence locker,"
"Because it was confiscated contraband," Jay reminded him,
"Regifted confiscated contraband," Mako corrected, "The Chief gave it to me for saving her life. At that point, it has no legal ties to the scene of the crime,"
"Hmph. This must've been some good booze," Mudo grinned with his drink to his lips,
"Oh, it was," Mako sighed with a smile, "Imported whiskey. Top shelf,"
"Got any left?" Mudo asked like he'd been parched the entire night,
"In the trunk of my car," Jay breathed in annoyance,
"Care to share?"
"As long as one of you watches my steak? Sure,"

[Crystal Catacombs] - midnight

Kuvira was out cold, snoring peacefully into Shah's chest while he laid wide awake beneath the low hum of the crystals. He couldn't close his eyes. Not yet. Not when he had no idea when he would get a moment like this with her again. Every time she shifted in her sleep, he'd fix her hair just to get a good look at her face, just so he could remember, every line, every feature. Anything to stop him from remembering his conversation with 93:

I-I don't know how long it's going to take for me to leave my old life.

Wait a minute. Leave? I thought you were turning yourself in.

Hmph. You believed that? Good. Seems like she did too.

You were lying?

Not lying. Stalling. I-I don't want her to get her hopes up if she thinks I'm coming back in a week. It may take months, maybe a year or more before I'm free and clear.

Why that long? What do you plan on doing?

Hmph. I plan on taking down a gang.

Mako's apartment - midnight

Mako was the last one up. Mudo had passed out on the balcony after finishing half of that imported whiskey. Jay had managed to crawl himself into the living room but only far enough to lie down on the living room rug, with his fork still in his hand. Leaving you, still snoring peacefully on the couch, oblivious to it all. Mako smiled to himself when he scooped you into his arms. You didn't stir. Not even when he adjusted you against his chest, his bending already warming the chill left from the night breeze. In seconds you were in his bed–clinging to his covers like you've slept here for a hundred nights, until he joined you and held you close. He waited. With bated breath, he waited until that sigh he knew all too well left your lips,
"Mmph. Mako," you whispered, hugging him closer,
"You're alright," he reassured you, pressing his lips ever so softly on your lips, then on your forehead, "You're safe. I promise,"
