(Ugh. My new job has me busier than ever, but guys I maaaay still be a little delulu. Ugggghhh. Blame my coworker. His sister sent me a thank you card and said next time she's in town, we should catch up. He and I are already getting sushi at the end of the month because I've been cravvinggg it lately. Plus, I jokingly offered to drag him to the Drake & J. Cole concert and he's down to go. Which is smack dab in the middle of Valentine's week and I already told him we'd be spending that day together anyway. So when and where am I supposed to avoid him???? 😭😭😭My birthday is in March. His is in April. I also told him that I've been looking to move and alllll the nice apartments are on his side of town, but the only way I'm moving over there is if I buy a car this summer, and since I haven't driven in like 2 years, he said I could borrow his to practice. Like???? What kind of man is this?)

Ugh. Someone come slap some sense into me. Regardless, I'm so excited to finally get to this part of the plot. I've been mulling over this scene since I revamped this fanfic, so as always I hope you enjoyyyyyyy)

[Airship]

"Damn it, Jay! I said get out of here!" Mako ordered, leaping for Shah's gun across the floor just as he did, the both of them locked in a fatal game of tug of war,
"I'm not leaving you!–
"That's not the point!" Mako shouted, thankfully manhandling the gun from Shah's grip and aiming the barrel directly at his face until Shah put his hands up,
"Fellas," Shah smirked, "Can't we talk this out?"
"You better believe you've lost that privilege!" Mako hissed, pressing the cold metal into Shah's forehead,
"Are you alright?" Jay asked Mako as he stepped closer,
"I'm fine. Just search him," Mako breathed angrily, staring Shah down with all the rage in his body, completely annoyed with the smug grin on his face,
"No need," Shah chuckled slyly, "You took my weapon,"
"Yeah? Do you know where I'm taking you next?"
"If I had to take a guess. I'd say that bullshit prison I just broke out of," Shah grinned while Jay emptied his pockets, "Tell me, what makes you think I won't break out again?"
"I'll make sure that's far from ever happening," Mako threatened,
"And why is that? So you can finally have my sister all to yourself?" Shah taunted, "You're wasting your time. Without me around, Viper always gets into her head,"
"Be quiet," Mako snapped after he spun Shah around and cuffed him tight,
"Aww. What's the matter? Afraid I'm right?"
"I'm afraid you've lost my interest," Mako huffed, pressing the barrel into Shah's neck,
"Is that so? No matter. I'm sure Shin found her by now,"
"What are you talking about?"
"Hmph. You think I came here alone? With one shirshu? Speaking of," Shah chuckled sinisterly before whistling loudly,

It was then Shah's shirshu came barreling back through the living room, knocking both Mako and Jay off their feet before Shah hopped on its back, his hands still cuffed tight,

"I'm sick of these," Shah scoffed, breaking free from the cuffs just like he had done a hundred times before, "And you call yourself a cop!? Just for fun I'm going after her instead!" he cackled, before racing out the door, leaving Mako and Jay catching their breath in pain,
"Jay, get up!"
"I am, but we can't catch him on foot!"
"Good thing we're in an airship," Mako coughed as he rose to his feet and raced toward the engine room,
"We're also not pilots!" Jay reminded him, sprinting after Mako with every ounce of energy he had left, "Mako, there's no way you can fly this thing!"
"I have to!" Mako shouted back, flipping the switches as fast as he could before steering the airship through the thick clouds, "Just get me to the Middle Ring!" he ordered,
"Fine, but what about landing!?" Jay questioned after taking Mako's place,
"You figure it out,"
"Figure it out!?"
"Yeah! Your dad was a pilot. Are you telling me you didn't learn anything!?"
"He yelled at me the whole time! I gave up when I was eleven,"
"Well, this is a do-or-die situation. For both of us,"
"Wait. What are you thinking!?" Jay shouted,
"I'm thinking I'll fly the rest of the way," Mako huffed, packing a bag of supplies as quickly as possible,
"With your bending!? Again!? How many times have you done this?"
"Well up until two days ago, once,"
"Y-You're insane–
"We can comb through my sanity later. Just get me closer,"
