(I'm literally at work right now, sitting at my desk and ignoring everything on my to-do list just to update lmao. It's been itching at me for days, so I must. I also have a midterm on Friday that I need to study for, and I've been putting that off. Nothing eventful has happened to me though other than the fact that I'm still trying to get this bitch fired. But no love on the horizon, no minions on my roster. Just me getting my body snatched for summer and planning my future. I'm thinking of moving states after I graduate. Maybe even switching careers. Either way, Taurus season is upon us soon, so that means it's time to lock in and get to work.)

Post again soon 🖤

"Okay. Siros says if Mudo's bpm looks good, he can release him into our custody within the hour,"
"Perfect," Mako nodded, squeezing your hand while he led you to the door, "Jay, keep an eye on him. We'll be in the hall,"
"Mako, Look. I know you're mad, but you weren't there, and I didn't know what else–

Mako shut you up how he always did; with a kiss so deep you had no choice but to melt into it, with your body locked into his arms and your back against the wall,

"Mad?" Mako chuckled breathlessly, "How can I be mad when I still have you in one piece?" he asked before stealing another kiss, "You did good,"
"I did?"
Yes, as much as I hate to admit it, Shah taught you well," Mako smirked until his smile grew serious, "Which is why I'm giving you this,"
"Your gun?"
"It's police grade, so there's a lot less recoil, and should you fire a bullet or anyone take it from you, RCPD can find a suspect pretty quickly if there's any casings left behind,"
"Recoil. Casings. Got it,"
"Good. Now, what all did Mudo want?"
"Besides me? I don't know, he was rummaging through your office when he told me to stay put. That's when I remembered your guns,"
"Did he threaten you?"
"Yes, but–
"That's a yes or no question," Mako said sternly, studying every twitch and twiddle of your body language,
"Yes, he threatened me," you sighed defeatedly,
"With what?" Mako asked as he fixed your hair,
"A knife. S-Switchblade actually,"
"Does he still have it?"
"I think so–
"One second," Mako smiled lightly before slipping back into the room. You waited patiently, listening in on only the words that managed to muffle their way through the thick door:

"The knife. Hand it over," Mako ordered sharply as he marched up to Mudo's bed,
"Knife?" Mudo chuckled,
"Play dumb and I'll stab you with it," Mako hissed, "You're already in a hospital bed, I can keep you here if I have to. Permanently,"
"You know, in this light? You kinda look like Viper right n–

Mako didn't let Mudo finish. Before either of them knew it, he had Mudo's shirt in one fist and the loud crack of his nose on the end of the other,

"I asked nicely. Now? I'm taking it," Mako snapped, rummaging through Mudo's pockets before stomping out the room, "That's yours too," he breathed, wiping the blood from his knuckles and placing Mudo's switchblade in your hand, "I'm not taking you back to my apartment by the way,"
"Huh? Then where are we–
"I have another place– or Bolin and I used to share a place, and I'd feel a lot better if you were there instead,"
"But–
"Jay and I will get your things and bring them there. I just– don't want you going back,"
"Any particular reason why?" you asked curiously,
"The blood," Mako answered flatly, his jaw clenched in frustration, "It can be...a lot. Seeing it. Especially when all the adrenaline wears off,"
"I see," you replied softly, "Where are you keeping Mudo?"
"Hmph. With us," Mako scoffed, "He may be injured, but I don't trust him enough to stay where I tell him. So, he'll be on the couch. Jay can stay in Bolin's room, and we'll crash in my old room,"
"If he escapes?"
"He won't–
"Mako, he might–
"He won't. Trust me," Mako reassured you while he held your face gently, "Besides, he's more afraid of you than anything right now. We'll use that to our advantage,"
