Mako's apartment
"Shah, Shah!" Mako chased him the second he marched out of the room, "Don't you dare storm out of here,"
"I wouldn't exactly dare me not to do anything right now," Shah answered sharply, already balling his jacket in his fist, "I'm just going out for a drink,"
"A drink, my ass," Mako snapped back at him, blocking Shah's only exit while the men held their breath, "Be pissed at her all you want, your face isn't exactly city friendly,"
"I didn't say anyone would see me. I said I was going out for a damn drink. Now move, Dipshit,"
"No—
"93—
"Leave 93 out of this," Mako hissed over him, "If anything, he agrees with keeping you here. No bodily harm, remember? So I don't care how pissed you are, I'm not about to have you stumbling drunk in the streets,"
"Baldy, get him out of my way," Shah seethed, his fists clenched tight, all his frustration locked on Mako,
"Tenzin's not letting you walk either," Mako corrected, "You wanna move me? Do it now. Otherwise, stand the hell down,"
Shah went quiet for two full minutes. His eyes glued shut while he centered himself, his anger, and his breathing,
"She shouldn't have been living with him—
"I know," Mako nodded once, slowly inching toward Shah with his palm outstretched like trying to soothe a spooked deer, "You had every right to yell at her for it. Just...do all your yelling, here,"
Shah exhaled even deeper. Meeting Mako's tense face when he could bring himself to do so,
"93?" Shah called softly,
"Though I'd like to give you the freedom to navigate your own decisions. Had you ran?" 93 chuckled lightly, "Let's just say, I was only going to let you get to the bottom of the stairs,"
"Hmph. Fuck all of you," Shah grinned as he dropped his shoulders,
"Hey, I was going to be the one to tell you that Mako keeps all his good liquor in his back cabinet,"Jay raised his hands in surrender,
"Well pour me a lot of it," Shah sighed deep, already halfway to the balcony for some fresh air,
"Coming right up," Mako breathed in relief when Shah slid the glass door shut and took a chair in silence, "Whew. Geez,"
"No shouting. No bruising. A plus," 93 grinned while he jotted a few notes, "I'm impressed a detective possesses that level of patience. Let alone de-escalation,"
"Well, he was just... not thinking straight," Mako breathed tiredly,
"Does he ever?" Tenzin questioned,
"Ehh. Sometimes," Mako admitted, "Others...He gets a little crosswired,"
"Well, you did one hell of job talking him down," Jay added,
"Hmph. Wasn't easy," Mako smirked only slightly, while watching Shah from the kitchen,
"You going out there?" Jay asked,
"Later," Mako nodded once more before making his way to the stairs,
"Smart choice," Mudo teased, "Let the bomb diffuse before you go poking it,"
"Ugh. Just get him his drink," Mako ordered, "And make sure he stays in this house,"

"One airship. Stocked for a 72-hour round trip," the cadet bowed to Kuvira,
"Thanks," Kuvira bowed back slightly, "Umm,"
"Ivin," the cadet nodded,
"Ivin? No...Number? Like 93," Kuvira blinked,
"Agent 93's Code of Familiarity is stacked a bit...different than mine," Ivin explained vaguely, "But if you're more comfortable referring to us by rank standards, 89. At your service," he almost grinned, "And your crew. 21, 19, 76, and 33," the men bowed silently,
"Only five of you?" Kuvira questioned,
"Hmph. You want to go fast, don't you?"
"On the contrary," Kuvira smirked, "I expect to,"
"Spoken like a true Captain," Ivin winked, before turning to his men, "Dai Li. Scatter to post,"

Your eyes were red—rubbed until they stung, but it was the dried tears that made your cheeks redder. You couldn't even mutter a sound other than the sobs over nothing than the sheer fact that Shah was right...always fucking right,
"Get out," you ordered the second Mako rushed in his bedroom,
"I'm not going...anywhere," Mako corrected you gently, "Neither is Shah, so if you need to scream it out some more, he's right downstairs,"
"You should've let him leave," you sniffled, "Let him think I'm biggest idiot alive far away from here,"
"Hey, that is the last...thing he thinks," Mako reassured you, inching closer to you in the bed just to pull you into his lap,
"Viper got in your head. That's all he's pissed about,"
"I...I didn't know about the beatings," you croaked while Mako wiped the rest of your tears, "He was always injured. So I thought—
"You didn't think to ask and he didn't need to tell you," Mako spelled it out plainly, "He wanted you out of that life,"
"Still, he should've said—something," you scoffed, pacing the room anxiously, "Instead of being some reckless—jarhead dumbass," you snapped,
"I'll talk to the jarhead," Mako promised, reaching out for your hands, "I'm actually getting kind of good at it,"
"Well I guess someone in this house has to like him," you pouted, crossing your arms tight,
"Hey, hey. cool off," Mako ordered with a grin as he towered over you, "I'll be back,"
