Jacob cut his hair.
Christian grunted as he attempted to retrieve the box of kumquats that his father recently purchased. Unfortunately, Troy has placed other heavy crates on top of it in the kitchen.
"Need some help?" His brother Jacob asked from behind.
Christian turned around to face him when he stared with unbelievable eyes as he assisted him. "Jacob?"
"Yeah?"
"What happened to your hair?"
Instead of the shoulder length red hair that hung loose, Jacob's hair has been cut short and styled like a boy band member.
"Jessie's kids 'accidentally' got gum stuck in my hair when I was putting one of them in timeout." Jacob moved boxes around before grabbing the kumquats with ease. "What's even worse was that I am short on money right now and had to put my hair in Ashley's hands."
"That explains the hair-do."
Jacob huffed. "I haven't cut my hair since middle school. She's been dying to get her grubby little hands to style it."
"It doesn't look bad but you look so different."
A chuckle escaped Jacob's lips. "You were used to my long hair, weren't you?"
"Yeah. But I can get used to your shorter hair."
Jacob ruffled Christian's head. "Don't get too used to it, because I am outgrowing it again." They smiled at one another when they heard Roger coming in.
"Luna and I just finished the ultrasound with Jason's mom. We are having a daughter and holy crap." He spoke when he spotted his immediate older brother's new haircut. "What the hell happened to you?"
"Jessie's kids and Ashley."
Roger approached Jacob to take a closer look. "How dare our sister cut your hair like that."
Jacob rolled his eyes. "Tell me about it."
All of a sudden there was a blinding flash in the room. "Look at my handsome brother." Ashley beamed with a phone in hand.
"Jacob!" Sarah exclaimed as Jessie looked sullen.
"Chill." Jacob told Jessie. "I'm not angry at you, nor my nieces and nephews."
Jessie sagged a bit but still had a look of guilt on her face.
"Now, enough of crowding me." Jacob said to everyone. "Let's get dinner."
Jacob headed to the door to lead everyone when he came face to face with John.
"It is true." John muttered as he stared at the other.
"Yeah. Yeah. Soak this all in." Jacob stamped away unaware of their father waiting to take pictures with a camera.
